What came with your 2018

Post by Zx14 » Mon Feb 04, 2019 9:02 am

Finally was able to take delivery of my 2018 crystal granite PW. The dealer sucked, They lost the second key fob. And the winch controller. They finally found a winch controller.
My question to 2018 owners is, what did you get with your PW. I GOT
1 key fob
A bag with a hook and the remote controller for the winch,( my Rubicon came with a recovery bag with gloves, tow strap, shackles)
Owners manual with nothing about PW or any winch details.( I think they just gave me a standard truck owners manual)?.
Thanks for any insight.

To be honest, not much comes with the PWs. All I got were 2 key fobs, a winch cable/controller, a hitch sleeve and floor mats. My hook was connected to my winch when I picked it up.

Granted I didnt pay for any extra bed extenders or side steps.

The book you get with the truck is an owner's GUIDE, not manual. The manual is seven or eight hundred pages. You have to download the PDF, it's an easy google to find it.

You should have a winch hook (may or may not be attached to the cable, depending on your dealer), winch remote, 2.5" x 2" hitch adapter, a trailer harness adapter and some kind of blanking plug/harness for the tailgate electronics (for removing the tailgate).

You can get a printed manual if you bitch about it.

This is exactly what my 2018 came with. And a second key fob. I would go back in and demand a second key fob after spending the amount we did on our trucks.

Yeah, I didn’t mention the second key because that’s a given. Buy new truck, get two keys.

My truck has keyless enter and go, came with two fobs and two “dumb” keys, so four keys in total.

Mine came with 2 keys remotes. The remote and the hook were in the passenger side floor box, the winch cable still had the factory ties on it, it was a pain to remove to put in the synthetic line. The sliders, the diff covers and the bed cover were installed.

Don't even need to bitch about it...I just sent a friendly email to Ram customer service requesting one and it is currently being sent to me free of charge.

My 2018 came with two key fobs, winch controller, tailgate plugs if you want to remove the tailgate and a number of documents, including owners guides, warranty information and even factory shipping invoices and build sheets.

I would be pissed if my dealer lost my 2nd key fob - demand that 2nd key fob free of charge, that is ridiculous.

Thank you. The dealer says the key was found and in the mail. I just thought since it was a FCA product, it would come with the nice canvas recovery bag like my Jeep did. Would assume that dealer prep would do the unwind and hook connections on the winch. Probably better they didn’t, it’s a bitch and they would have bent or scratched the bumper. So far all seems to work fine. But I have never seen the green econo light come on with MDS. I’m pretty sure I’ve gotten it to do it, level ground light throttle, 50 in 6th gear, gas mileage seemed to go to about 20, could feel it more than hear it, then push the minus button to show 6th gear, smoothed out and mileage down to 13.5. Does the 18 have the light?

The light is there but it comes disabled. You have to go in the settings and turn it on.

Dodge used to sell a winch recovery kit that came in 2 bags. It was about $400.00. The bags have Power Wagon on them. I have one of the kits.
