Not new to Dodge/Ram trucks...but I am to Power Wagons

Post by 72plyrr » Tue Oct 16, 2018 10:19 am

As it says above, I'm not new to owning Dodge trucks, but I do have a new 2018 Power Wagon. Traded my 2010 Ram 1500 Sport on it when the infamous Hemi tick returned after just getting it repaired for the same thing. Previous to that I had a 2004 Dodge 1500 SLT and a 1979 Dodge D250.
I'm a longtime Mopar owner; a few Chargers (pre-74), Dusters, a 67 Coronet, and a whole bunch of Roadrunners (most I should have kept...1969 Hemi car for one). Due to my time in the miltary, I spent many years overseas and, with Mopars in limited supply, I started collecting GM F-Body cars...primarily Firebird Trans Ams.
I retired from the military, in 2010 after 27 years, in Korea, where I had a 2004 Durango. My company relocated me to New Mexico a few years ago and I started buying up every car and truck I thought was a good deal. While my Durango could tow a trailer, it wasn't the best. So, I bought the 2010 Sport from a dealer in Salt Lake. Within a year, however, it started to have issues...the biggest being a failed lifter. When the truck started to make the same noise again, after just being repaired, I said, "The hell with this", and bought my 2018 Power Wagon off a local dealer. It's a much better truck to tow my car trailer with and will be a much better ride when I move to North Carloina here in a few weeks, not to mention a lot more reliable. My wife says I should consider myself lucky. A month ago I bought a 1977 Trans Am in Phoenix, then a few weeks later a new Power Wagon. Maybe I am lucky...

Welcome, good looking truck. I've always loved the look of the black truck and gray/anthracite decals.

Welcome to the forum.

We got the same taste in cars. Had in the family. '66 Cuda, '68 Hemi RoadRunner, '70 SuperBee 440 6 Pack, '70 340 Duster, '73 340 Dart Sport with a 440 to 572ci. 2 '78 TransAms. Black auto with T tops, and a red 4 speed. Last motor in it was a LS7. Cars that I just missed on buying. Ex Sox & Martin '68 Hemi RoadRunner that they used in the stock class, and a '70 Cuda AAR. Missed this Cuda twice. Had to walk away from a '06 Viper ARC sale. Thought I had the car bought. Showed up with the money at the house after 2 weeks of talking on the phone and agreeing on the price. When to the house, money in hand. After some small talk. She then told me that She wanted $15,000 more. :jawdrop: The woman's husband bought the car. He past away 18 months later. She decided to sell. And I was the first one there.
