Pavement Queen

Post by Zlaayer » Thu Sep 20, 2018 3:38 pm

Hey Guys,

I'm new to off roading. So new I haven't even bought a truck yet. But I've been doing a lot of research and the Power Wagon tickles my fancy. I want to purchase one some time in the next 12 months, but I'm not the type to just dive into a $60,000 purchase. Looking forward to learning from you all.

Thanks,
Zlay

Welcome to the forum! The PW is the most capable production truck in the world, straight off the assembly line. Every other truck has to be modified just to meet its list of standard equipment. It’s a good choice.

Thank you for your service at home and abroad sir! :patriot:

Hello Zlaayer, welcome!

The nice thing about the power wagon is it has all the off road accessories right from the factory suspension, lockers, winch, disconnecting swaybar, etc..

You can focus on getting out and using your truck, having some fun and gaining some experience rather than building your truck.
Vehicle: 2007 Power Wagon Quad Cab - Factory Options (Inferno Red, Premium Cloth Bench Seat, Light Group, Automatic Transmission, Leather Steering Wheel)
Suspension: Carli 3" Hemi Coils, Carli Control Arms, Carli King 2.5 Pin-Tops, Carli Stainless Steering Stabilizer, Carli Trackbar | Synergy 1" Rear Shackle
Performance: Magnaflow Muffler | Magnaflow Y-Pipe
Wheels/Tires: Yokohama X-A/T 35x12.5x17
Steering/Drivetrain/Axles: Carli Front Diff Guard | Dynatrac Ball Joints | Mopar HD Steering Gear
Miscellaneous: Line-X Bedliner | Locker Bypass Switch | Mopar Rock Rails | Odyssey Extreme 65-PC1750T | Performance Friction Brake Pads | Weathertech Digital Fit Mats | Winch Thermal Protection Bypass

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. Wow I just test drove the Power Wagon yesterday and I think I'm in love. I was on the fence about gas vs diesel but after driving both it's an easy choice. I do intend to pull an Airstream but the PW seems like it is still capable of doing so. Maybe not as well as the diesel but if I have to choose a vehicle that is better at either off road or towing I think I'm going to go with off road. Gas mileage be damned.

There’s a few guys with power wagons towing air streams. BoldAdventure and aearles both travelled full time with that combo.

Me and Twinsticky both towed campers at 10,000 lbs weight with 5.7 3G's with little problems. Mine was a 35ft camper. And Twinsticky was a toyhauler.

I spent a long time comparing 4x4 full size trucks, and don' get me wrong they all have advantages...but the Power Wagon is completely insane.
2018 Flame Red, Moon Roof, Dual Alternators, Ram Boxes sadly Ram ran out of, Luxo Package with 8.4 UConnect, Enter and Go with remote start, Auto Wipers and Lights. Added missing skids and White Knuckle sliders. 35" BFG KM3s. Procal and Warn wireless remote for winch.

Welcome to the forums.

Mike I found you on YouTube! Completely independently of this forum, which I thought was cool. I subscribed and liked a bunch of your vids. The one of the drone getting wrecked cracked me up! And the one that showed all the mods you've installed was helpful. It's one thing talking about mods in a forum, another thing entirely to watch videos of it in action and actually see it installed.

I was on the fence about the Prospector vs the Power Wagon but I spent a lot of time on their forum and this one is much more lively. The Power Wagon community is so much better. And I can't find a single video of a Prospector doing anything extreme off road. All the vids of Prospectors off road are pretty tame in comparison to the stuff I've seen Power Wagons do.

What? Nah you look good bro! And you lost weight. Most people gain and lose weight. I gained like ten pounds this year from stress. It'll come off eventually. You're a good producer.
