Ran a 03 Cummins 4x2, 2500 360k best vehicle I ever owned hands down.
switched to 5.7 Hemi 2014 2500 did the job

just adopted a 16
Power Wagon, (and its appropriate payment book} didnt know what it was.

Probably not the optimum vehicle for what I do,but man, this is a nice truck.

sales guy had no clue. I tow around 7-10k pretty regular so I'm a little hesitant but thankfully I don't need to push her too hard.

I love the ride and the cushioned feeling vs. the Tradesman so I am willing and able to modify to increase the towing capacity.

Currently very interested in Air Lift or Firestone; Daystar Cradles and anything that will help modify and decrease the alarming sag I got when I loaded her the first time. Been reading all your posts great resource glad to be here!

A bunch of us tow, those numbers are no problem. I tow close to 7k with no airbags and no squat just using WD to level everything out. These trucks sag because the softer rear coils and shocks which allow for greater articulation. Just the trade-off you get for max flex. Lots of guys have added bags though.

You are right on in that the Power Wagon is the best riding 3/4 ton out there - it's due to the softer linear rate springs.

Towing can be somewhat of a challenge if you need to support tongue weights much over 1000 pounds... Consider bags if you tow heavy often for longer distances.

However, I have towed up to 18,000 pounds on numerous occasions for smaller distances - it is possible but not particularly practicle.

7-10k on the hook is fine, stock. I pull the low side of that through the mountains regularly, truck does just fine.
+1 for airbags if you're pulling heavier stuff. Truck will squat with 1k lbs tongue weight.
Rides real nice with ~1k lbs of snowmobile+fuel+gear in the bed. That seems the be the sweet spot in the suspension.

Towing heavy shit more regularly, i'd probably make the jump to a 3500/4500 diesel.

Looks like i will do the WD Hitch first, i like this rather than messing with the air bags. At the least i can leave the hitch at the shop and go 4x4 with no interference from bags, timbrens etc. Defintely going to be more conscious of how my materials are loaded in my dump trailer.
