Welcome to the group
You have BFG KO2's on it now - right? I was always a BFG KO/KO2 man until I tried the Duratracs. From my experience, you'll have to spin the KO2's a little faster to clear the mud out of them.

I like the KO2 so far, I just wanted those Duratracs off as soon as possible, up here in the rocky BC terrain the duratracs sidewall cuts like butter but besides that yes they are a great tire, especially in snow.

I was also against the graphics at first but the more I see them the more I want them. Awesome looking truck!MechanixRage wrote:Hello All!

Re: "Welcome Thread"
Hey there, long-time lurker finally joining the forum here because I just ordered a 2016 PW in Maximum Steel and can't wait to take delivery sometime before Christmas. Been looking at these trucks for years and finally pulled the trigger on one. I'm a BNSF conductor out of Los Angeles and prep/drive for a professional desert racing team with what little free time railroading allows. Also grew up exploring all things lost in the Mojave Desert, my grandpa maintained AT&T microwave stations via helicopter and passed along years of knowledge of places unseen and unmapped. The PW will be used to reach remote desert locations and occasionally tow the race car pictured below. I look forward to sharing some adventures with you all as well as learning anything there is to know about my dream truck. Cheers!

Re: "Welcome Thread"
Hey guys, my name is Dan I live in Big Bear Ca and have had my 08 PW for about 4 months now. I'd post pics but they're to big and I haven't figured out how to resize them on my iPad yet.
It was a Fire Chiefs command vehicle before I bought it, which I thought was a positive (regular maintenance, cap, storage, larger alternator, pre wired for radios/lights etc.). But whoever pulled their equipment out prior to the sale wasn't very nice. My poor 12v guy has spent an enormous amount of time an my $$ tracing hundreds of dead end wires. Well I'm pretty sure we have that sorted out, and now are on to the last hurdle, the SmartBar. It's dead.
From my reading, I've gathered a couple of game plans. Please let me know if I'm on track.
First, wait for Pit slave (?) to finish his kit. Preferred if it's soon and not too much $$.
Second, get the EVO swaybar disconnect kit and then hard wire the lockers. I haven't found a definitive "how to" on hard wiring the lockers, but it doesn't seem too challenging. Do most guys splice into the existing lockers wiring or run a new fused/relayed parallel system, with switches in the cab? I'm leaning towards parallel system.
How do if fool the truck into thinking everything is ok after I remove the SmartBar's brains?
I've already installed a roof top tent, a fridge, ham radio, and a family waiting for an adventure.
Thanks in advance for all the help.

There is a thread or two on hard wiring the lockers.
If you need a new smartbar. They're not cheap. The '05's use one type which are cheap. Then '06 and up. Ram changed the electrical system. Then things got

Re: "Welcome Thread"
All.
Been lurking for quite awhile knowing I would soon have a Power Wagon. I finally found and purchased a 2013 wagon. Getting ready to have the truck shipped out to me and the dealer rep went and put diesel fuel in the tank. Question: Should I let them drain the tank and flush the system or walk away. Will this void the warranty?
Thanks,
Jim

Re: "Welcome Thread"
As long as the dealer didn't drive it after they put diesel in it, it should be fine.

Re: "Welcome Thread"
I finally registered on this forum. I've been lurking on here for some time. Back in October I bought my 2016 Power Wagon. It is in a Laramie trim with almost every option. The reason I got it was to pull our Airstream which it does very well. Secondly, it will take us to those remote spots to pitch a tent or go fishing. When I get some free time I'll go do some light off-roading. This truck is definitely a jack of all trades. Every week this truck amazes me. The 6.4 is very strong and rather fuel efficient. I've seen 11.5 pulling the trailer and 15 on the interstate. Better than most of the guys I know who have half tons. The ride is awesome for a three quarter ton truck. It is hard for me to say anything bad about this vehicle. Way down the road I may change the shocks to 5160's or Fox 2.5's with the reservoirs. I'am still wondering if I should do the cabin filter modification. Anyway, here is a picture of the truck with the Airstream. Enjoy!

Re: "Welcome Thread"
Doing a little research I found it was not really a big deal with diesel in the fuel tank. I had them drain and flush the fuel system and change out the spark plugs. Flew out and picked her up. Drove the truck back (2300) miles and could not be happier with this PW. What a pleasure to drive. Mods coming soon.
Thanks,
Jim
