New and improved control box!

Post by myoung84 » Wed Sep 24, 2014 11:30 am

Got the final drawings back for the custom control box. This is the same box I used in the past, but I'm having them custom cut them for the connector. They are also thinning the side for clearance on the plug. This will allow me to use the gasket supplied with the connector rather than silicone. Before, the wall was too thick with the gasket in place and the plug wouldn't fully seat. Not that the previous boxes were bad, but these will look even better!

And here's a really cool 3D drawing. You can rotate and zoom within the PDF...

I'm excited. Would there be a way for you to give us all a breakdown of your official list and expected times of completion (per batch)? I'm just curious to know (roughly) when I'll need to have the money available for you. The pay cut I took put me on a project budget and it would help to know when I'll need the $250 by. Thanks in advance!

Here's the current 10-13 list. I'd say mid October?

Here's the "Official" 4th gen list. Notice there's one 2014 on the list as well. I've got JBM Power Wagon doing some testing on his new 2014 so assuming his works (99% sure it will) I'll have no problems with 2014s. Only difference will be a different plug at the rear axle, so it's not a whole new harness like the 3rd gens will be. My plan is to get at least a couple of these out each week. I can do two of them in one evening, and one evening a week is about all the free time I normally have. Keep in mind each one of these takes about 2 hours to build....

Well, if it helps put the list in a slightly different order, I'll be ready to make payment on the 31st of October. I currently working on a rifle project for hunting season, so my project/fun budget is being split right now. Thanks for the update!

Nothing better than lockers in 4-Hi, especially lockers in 4-Hi that lock up instantly... ;)

So I installed the locker bypass kit on my 2014 today with the new rear axle connector Myoung sent me and............ IT WORKS!!!!!!

I am sooooooo stoked I was able to transplant my 100% favorite mod from my 2011 over to my 2014!!!!!

A huge thank you to Myoung for making a great product and also working so hard to make the kit work on the 2014's and the 3G's.

I had to change the mounting spot due to a coolant reservoir being in the standard location. I was able to mount it up right behind the air box.

Relay boards came in from Hong Kong! All 100 of them!

And I really like the new precut boxes! The connector fits great and I don't have to dremel the hole out!
