Re: 3rd Gen Smartbar Locker Bypass
My supplier that could source them seems to fallen off the face of the planet. Here's what I was looking for. He seemed willing to reduce the MOQ for the pins but then nothing when I asked how to proceed with payment.
8230-4492:$0.08/ea MOQ;5000pcs/reel (NEED 1150)
8240-4882:$0.08/ea MOQ;4000pcs/reel (NEED 850)
6241-0261:$1.20/ea MOQ:100pcs/bag
6245-0281:$1.20/ea MOQ:100pcs/bag
Here's his contact info. It says NY but he's in HK.

FACK'N-FUQ! I see the orange square & think..."Oh-Shit! Morgan has them ready", but then I read nothing good.
Re: 3rd Gen Smartbar Locker Bypass
with all the problems with finding the connector, why not make one that has to be spliced in? I know it would be a PITA but i wouldn't oppose it, after all my truck is not exactly new anymore.

Re: 3rd Gen Smartbar Locker Bypass
I'm not opposed to that option, but it's kind of an all or nothing deal though. The absolute minimum quantity I can order is 100 connectors, so I can't really have both options, the price would never work out.06PW wrote:with all the problems with finding the connector, why not make one that has to be spliced in? If all of the 3rd gen guys can agree that a splice method is acceptable, then I can move forward with that. It's not as clean as I would like, but it gets you working lockers with the OEM knob, which is really what this is all about. You don't have to cut any wires either, unless you want to. There are three wires that you would need to pull from the connector to intercept (pic below) and two that you would use T-Taps to splice in to. The only thing I don't like about this solution is that it leaves room for user error. It's now the customer's responsibility to connect to the correct wires and can make troubleshooting a lot of fun...

Re: 3rd Gen Smartbar Locker Bypass
i rather not….i dont trust myself doing that..still hoping to get the connections
Re: 3rd Gen Smartbar Locker Bypass
well, i am down for the spliced in version. I'd say that if anyone has every wired in lights it shouldn't be any worse than that, especially if you don't even have to cut and splice.

I'm okay with it but will heat shrink those connections to provide environmental protections as it were.

Re: 3rd Gen Smartbar Locker Bypass
should we start a poll or something on the main forum to see how many people with 3G wagons would switch to the non-connector type?

We might not have a choice in what will work. Would like a plug & play. But looks like that's not an option any more.

Re: 3rd Gen Smartbar Locker Bypass
It's still a possibility, but I'm not holding my breath. I placed an order for some samples from a HK vendor. So assuming those are correct, I'll try and place my big order...

Re: 3rd Gen Smartbar Locker Bypass
Not real clear on the issue here but I will throw out a random thought, what about splicing in the existing factory connector as an option, would solve the issue?
