Jump Pack

Post by ramv » Thu Jan 04, 2024 1:55 pm

Anyone have any good experience with the new jump packs? I have an older Anti-Gravity one that seems to still hold a charge but it's on the small side (2000 mAh) for a truck (works good on my 950 Super Enduro though) and I built one with Warn quick connect cables/jumper cables/Lowes Toolbox/AGM battery (robbed from my 2nd gen) but the battery is getting old and frankly it's kind of a chore to carry around.

Hulkman, Noco, GooLoo all get decent reviews but I don't know enough to avoid cheap ones and pick the quality. I put an SOK 206 aH battery in my camper and it's awesome, but it's way too much to lug around. Fantasitic to power my 2,000 watt inverter and run the microwave or the S/O hair dryer.

I have a Hulkman, it does good if the battery that you're trying to jump still has some juice in it, but my grandson had a stone cold dead battery and it couldn't jump it. I had to use traditional jumper cables and the PW running for about 5 minutes before his car would fire up.

I've had better luck with this jump pack in the past and this is probably what I'll buy when the Hulkman dies: https://www.amazon.com/Booster-ES5000-1 ... to_dp&th=1

I have the NOCO GB50 and GBX75 and both seem high quality and have jumped my truck quite a lot when I was having battery issues.

I've had a Noco GB40 for a few years now. Big for the bike, small for the truck, but it'll do both.
Should have gotten one a long time ago. Works great. USB charge, USB out as well. I've used that jump pack to run an IP camera for a while off-grid. Or use it for more "normal" things like charging a phone.

Jumped a Transit van with it last week.
It's gotten my 1190R running a dozen times.

I picked up one of the HOMPOW 6000A from Amazon based on this thread (and the reviews)
$97.09 including the NY Tax

The Battery in my 2014 is only 2 years old - but I need to start and run the truck at least once a week in the winter or it won't start when it's 0 degrees outside. Haven't actually had to use the Jump Pack yet...
