Just got my DT ProFab Brace
Getting installed while it's at the dealer tomorrow.
And there's a little divot in the bar shaft support. I hope that won't be an issue.

Re: Just got my PSC Brace
Stupid me. Lol! DT ProFab!! The name is etched right into it, too!SilverWagon05 wrote:Ummmm...Ace. That's not a PSC brace.
Truck's in the shop today. Hopefully it will be on when I pick it up. I'll snap a few pics and post them.
On another note, I took it to an alignment shop right before I dropped it off. Apparently, my "all over the road" control problem was due to toe being way out. Left was -.31 and right was +.68. Set to total .20 (.10 + .10) and now it's smooth as silk.
Between that and the brace, and that big steering box, I should be good to go.

I never saw that extra piece of metal (with the divot) you have when I got mine a couple months ago. Think it is a spacer of some sort for lifted rigs. I can see the two holes on the crossbar where it might have gone if needed. On another note, I couldn't even get a local auto shop to install it for "liability reasons" Dealership must be pretty cool to put it on for you. IMO
2005 Black Pow Wagon mods: DT Profab Steering Brace, Gibson superflow catback single exhaust system, Locker Bypass, Moog ball joints (see how long they last), New OEM track bar bushings, T-steering upgrade w/ Bilstein 5100 steering damper, Power everything, Heated leather seats, (keeps the better half happy), Rear window defrost, Bilstein 5100 shocks, 35x12.5x17 Toyo AT2 Extremes, Customized H2 alloy wheels, Original rock rails with family friendly steps welded on, Tri fold tonneau, Hi-lift extreme jack, Tool box along with all the essential PW gear. New winch cable, Winch TPS bypass, Cardan joint grease zerk discovery. New front grille assembly. Magnesium Chloride under coating.

Re: Just got my DT ProFab Brace
At both ends of the brace there is a loop with a bushing that bolts the sway bar to the brace. When the truck is flexed the swaybar actually contacts the edge of the brace limiting flex if you cut out just a little on both ends you can gain 1/4-1/2" of travel.

Re: Just got my DT ProFab Brace
Here are some pics of the bar. On the one mount, you can see part if the mount hole showing we had to grind to elongate the hole to compensate for the 3/8th" offset. Apparently the 3G frame is wider than the 4G. Imagine that.
And you can see where the sway bar is hitting the very end of the brace. PowerwagonMark pointed out in camp that it should be notched to allow sway bar travel.
Last pic of course, us the slight carnage on the Carli duff coverm . That thing is worth its weight in gold.

Re: Just got my DT ProFab Brace
Ace you can see in your pic that your swaybar has made contact with the brace with enough force to make a an impression in the brace. The more you flex the more the swaybar contacts the brace. You can see you have lost at least a 1/4" of travel because the brace is holding back the swaybars full potential. Cut that area out and you will gain more articulation.

Absolutely! I guess I'll have to mark it, then remove it and grind away!Powerwagonmark wrote:Ace you can see in your pic that your swaybar has made contact with the brace with enough force to make a an impression in the brace. Re: Just got my DT ProFab Brace
Thanks for the details gents. I definitely did not get that extra piece with mine. The holes are there in the brace for it. Huh? I don't know why I didn't get it. wassupp DT Profab? Edit: just got off the phone with them and it was not included for the 05 model. No worries. It is fine without it.
