LED fog Bulbs

Post by ramv » Tue Mar 10, 2020 11:46 pm

Bought a pair of these for $32

https://www.amazon.com/stores/node/1649 ... 6491572011

Initial assessment is wow. Obviously very white. Good spread out focus. I lowered them a bit so the lows were a bit higher (very easy with factory adjustment. )

Note the lows only help with very straight light. The highs have the same pattern but just further extended. They do overlap the fogs a lot more than just the lows but they do layer out a bit further.

I had considered some of the aftermarket replacement housings but on the Fog’s it felt like for the price it was worth giving a shot. I may lower forward or add a set of cubes with yellow filters if they reflect too much in the fog.

Headlight Revolution. 5000k or lower. Our projector housings are actually pretty decent. Nice sharp cutoff that you'll need to make sure you adjust accordingly. I also did HID for the highs, which work for where I drive in rural areas of AZ, but if you're situation is more on/off highs, their LED choice might be better. HIDs take a bit to come to full brightness.

Unless they prove to have a short life (which they are covered for as long as you own them by HR) it really is a dramatic upgrade. They've already paid off helping me see elk on the Interstate south of Flagstaff where I highly doubt I would have seen them in time with the OEM bulbs.

I just installed LED headlight bulbs and backup bulbs from HR the first of the year. World of difference.

If going to a HID headlight. Go with the 55 watt system.
