Read over on Dodge Cummings forum too. Claim denied if recall has been completed.Mario75 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 8:28 pmAfter being passed up the chain to a star case manager, they say there’s nothing they can do because my track bar is within specs and welded. FCA IS calling this their permanent solution to the track bar problem. They won’t reimburse me for the synergy because mine was welded already. This is pretty ridiculous. Every time the truck needs an alignment the welds must’ve broke and then aligned then re-welded.

Found it and read through it. I think I'll take the plunge and go from there.

The 2019 link is the way to go if you can get it. There are aftermarket companies making ‘stronger’ units, but once you have a ‘strong enough’ unit why would you need more? I think the point is lost in a lot of this thinking that having the strongest linkage possible is ideal, while also running lesser quality joints than stock. I don’t care how well I can smash my steering into a boulder. I care how well it does as a steering linkage. It’s not a skid plate.
Re: highway robbery
I just think it’s ridiculous for FCA to even consider that welding jam nuts on the adjustment portion of the track bar is a proper solution. Unfortunately this mean that a proper alignment requires the added expense of cutting and welding the link every time it gets done.

Re: highway robbery
I don't understand why anyone is letting them weld it in the first place - that was a stupid fix. I pick and choose which recalls I allow after doing a little research...

Well... I let them weld mine because I didn't care and had a Synergy replacement unit (that FCA paid for) in my garage to install... soo...Bill2014 wrote:I don't understand why anyone is letting them weld it in the first place - that was a stupid fix. Re: highway robbery
I would just stop bothering with OE drag links, unless you're really sold on that idea.

They’re clocked so they usually don’t rub, but yes they can rub the tie rod. It being Eaton Weathershield hose though, it’s not getting a hole...Oilbrnr wrote:Are those hydraulic lines resting/rubbing on the tie-rod?
Re: highway robbery
Just a little update for everyone.....After writing a letter to Ram corporate and sending it via fedex, I finally got a response. A reimbursement specialist from Ram customer care reached out and has agreed to reimburse the track bar even though they welded the drag link. I initially asked for the new Mopar updated part and was told that wasn’t going to happen. Then I reached out to my dealer and asked what my options were, they told me they could cut and reweld the link as many times as I needed. I expressed my discontent with ram, and my safety concerns, as well as how cutting and re-welding an inferiorly made drag link every time my truck needs an alignment was not right. The Synergy drag link is on backorder from poly performance and should arrive in two weeks. I will be submitting the work order and credit car bill as soon as the dealer installs it.
