Transfer case fill plug

Has anyone had the fill plug stuck in their transfer case? Can't get mine out of my 05. Any ideas or experience would be great.

I just welded an old bolt to the center of the plug and used a ratchet wrench to remove it then bought a new plug from the dealer.
