Maximum Steel

I was asked on a forum how rare the maximum steel color was for the 2018 power wagon but i couldn't remember which forum so here it is. FCA's Reply.

According to our records, there were 173 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Crew Cab 6'4" Box 4X4 units built in Maximum Steel Metallic Clear Coat paint for the 2018 model year.

My 16 Laramie PW is Maximum Steel. Looks really nice when it's clean. I get a lot of compliments on it. I think the flake looks blue and gives the truck a blue hue in the sun but my wife says it's charcoal gray. I think she just likes to argue. I've only seen a couple 1500's around Colorado in this color.

My '16 Laramie PW is MaxSteel also. Tried to get that name on here but it was taken so there's at least one more! Under florescent lights it does look gray when clean. I think there are more out there but when they are dirty they look black, kinda like the Black Forrest Green trucks. Cool that FCA took the time to give the number for the 2018's.

I had a 2015 Cummins 2500 4x4 in Maximum Steel. I liked the color but not the smog Nazis in CA. I didn't work it enough so had trouble getting it to pass the now "Yearly" smog test for diesel trucks. It all worked out as it got me back into a Power Wagon....

I love the Maximum Steel color. It was on my short list when I was getting my 2018. I pin-stripe my truck so often off-road, I figured the silver wouldn't show it as bad as a darker color.
