Ford Tremor.......

If it's about Power Wagons, all generations, this is where it'll go. This is the original PWR Forum Power Wagon Technical Discussion Section. And this includes everything that doesn’t fit in any one of the other categories related to the truck goes here!

Ford Tremor.......

Seems a bit overblown to me to compare this to the Power Wagon. The Power Wagon is a purpose built off-road vehicle. The Tremor is a package you can get on multiple 250 and 350 models.

- no disconnecting sway bar
- option for heavy ass diesel engine
- no winch to pull your heavy ass out of the mud
- no front locker

That said I do think having this out there will be good for future Power Wagons
- standard 35 inch tires on 18 inch rims for one
- potentially will have Ram up their game even more, although they did it tremendously with the 2019, there is still more to go (bring back the rock rails or partner with White Knuckle to build them :) )

Thoughts?

The factory limited slip in the front applies braking to the wheel with slip and power to the the wheel with grip.... not a locker, but damn close.

Anyone can add a winch and bumper... hell some do it to the power wagon.

Heavy ass diesel yes. But if you tow heavy, I can certainly see going that way. Oh yea, and still has damn near the tow rating of a non tremor super duty. But that comes at loss in articulation in comparison to the pw.

And I like the fact that it is a simple package added to one of the many variants of the super duty. Makes for more options. However, odd they only offer it in the 4 door shortbed (maybe RAM and Ford know something we dont?). Seems like a regular cab longbox would be a hot seller.

I dono. I wouldn't go off and sell my pw for one. But its nice to actually see some sort of competition for the pw. Should keep RAM on their toes.

Looked at it, but didn't "feel" anything in the article I read that would motivate me to pursue one.
With that said, competition is good.
If it turns out to be a good truck, it'll drive Mopar to compete with it and improve the PW further.

And the big gasser with the 10 speed trans... with a better crawl ratio than the pw with 8 speed... that certainly gets my attention!

Really 53:1 vs 51:1? I'm sorry but not enough of a reason to ever buy a ford

Recently they saw a TRX supporting a hellcat and we all know that the 6.4 can be tuned for a lot more HP and torque.

To me the Tremor is a nice off-road package offered by Ford. Not a Power Wagon, but it makes a lot of sense for 90% of the truck owners out there.

My ‘16 has a 35:1 crawl ratio. Thats quite a difference.

Still not enough to make me switch.

meh. its practically still got full f250 towing and carrying capacity, which meens its suspension doesnt even hold a candle to the wagon. 430 rti, pathetic. no winch, no front locker, no disco bar. im sure the ford fan boi's will be in love
