Acceleration lag?

Post by xtrememachines » Sat May 18, 2019 6:54 am

I have a 2019 and its driving me crazy with a 1-2 second delay in acceleration. Can this be adjusted or programed?

I go to pull out onto roadway and I step on gas pedal and by the time the truck starts to move the gas pedal is already halfway to the floor then I have to back off.

Seems like all modern trucks are that way, things like pedal commander help. I put one on our 4 Runner.

I drove a 19 like that and it was absolutely ridiculous. It shouldn't be like that but a pedal commander would help that.

Is that something new they did? My 16 seems fine as far as that goes.

I have one on the 1500, if you turn it all the way up, you can put pressure on just your big toe and it'll be like you floored it. Haha

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

Should tee into the gas pedal and that's all. If it's not plug and play, it must be the wrong one.

a pedal commander should help...but it wont help if they went and fudged up the transmission tuning with the new 8speed.

if you bought it specific to your truck, it will fit.
send over some pics?

Won’t the pedal commander make your warranty void on a lot of stuff? I wouldn’t do it till it’s out of power train warranty.

You can unplug and plug it back in within a few minutes. Shouldn’t effect the warranty at all. It doesn’t tune or change any points. Basically just a voltage amplifier from what I gather about it.

I have a 14’ and it’s made a night and Day difference.

They sent over the right one, it just plugs in. It helps with the lag.
