I told him;

1. Need a rear locker
2. Solid front Axle
3. 2500

I found two left over 2018 PW for him and he sends me a text.....I had to go with my Heart. AAAAAHHHHHHHHH
"I had to go with my heart" = "I'm too stupid to help myself". I bet your neighbor read this article and hoped his new Tundra had drum brakes. https://www.tacomahq.com/1668/toyota-ta ... xWFMxy5afQ

I’m having a hard time finding words to adequately describe that stupidity.

Actually, it kinda makes sense. I've got a buddy in Sandpoint, Idaho and they get a ton of snow up there. And he bought a POS old Chevy to push a plow down his driveway. Not even registered. Pretty common from what he told me. Better than snow blower for the folks in the country with long driveways.

It’s just a list of trucks (and a Jeep). Maybe there’s more analysis in the article that goes with the list, but it’d have been easier to just say “buy any old thing you can afford and slap a plow on it”.

In Coeur d’Alene, Chevy 1500 with all the suspension from a 2500 swapped in. 380,000 miles on the clock haha. Plowing your own driveway is not the same as being a paid plow guy that is doing it 10 hours a day.

I was guessing that’s basically sales volume from that specific website.
I agree. Not one 3/4 ton on that list.

Wonder how many 1/2 ton cheby front diffs get broken plowing snow?

This ^^^^^^^
If you are plowing for 14 hours every time it snows it helps to have a heavy duty truck. Cuts down on the maintenance and repairs a bit. But regardless if its a heavy duty or not, shits gonna wear out.

But honestly, a small rig like regular cab shortbox or blazer/ramcharger/jeep is the cats ass for plowing. So much easier to get around in small driveways. Not so handy for big jobs like parking lots, but you gotta bring the right tool for the job. There is certainly a market for small plow rigs.

A buddy of mine has an excavation company and they have a bunch of plow trucks. All are chevys, many of which are half ton short box regular cabs. Do they go to the fix it shop? Well hell yes. But so do the 1 tons.

That's the cutest little plow I've seen.

How many miles do you have on your KM3's? How do you think they are holding up tread wear wise with such a heavy truck? I have a set coming in 37s. I've been reading a bit about the KO2 and KM2 not being good tires for HD trucks because of the weight. I'm struggling to find reviews on HD trucks but it seems they really stepped it up with the KM3 and made it a much better and stronger tire.

So this morning I was rolling for a bike ride and saw a Semi Truck stuck in an open field near my home. I decided to offer a little help and even though I did think the PW would budge the big beast we decided to try it out anyway. One tug and he was out! Holy crap, this truck continues to exceed my expectations.

I am at maybe 15K so far. Tread is holding up well. The Dura Trash were cupping for some reason.

He said another guy had tried the evening before but it didn't budge. I was extremely pleased that my pickup was able to get him going. Tore up the plastic on his bumper a bit but he said it was minimal compared to what it would have cost him to have a semi-tow truck get him out (said it would have been $2K).

FAILED TODAY! Neighbors cleaning lady had one of those Foo Foo Jeeps, a commander or something with open diffs. Hill was so ICEY I could barely crawl it with both lockers. Tried pulling her up, she would not give it gas and would steer the opposite direction straight into the ditch until I ended up dragging her sideways up the hill, I was about to break the stupid Jeep thingy. Finally gave up after she called her husband, asked her to back up out of the way, came back 15 minutes later and nearly smashed my PW into her because she was still parking in the middle of the road.....
