I think I'm going to buy a cheap android device and get this software.
Let us know how it works for you. I have a Tazer Ram, which has lots of great features. Would be nice to know if with this AlfaOBD software you really CAN set TPMS without any other device needed (along with your 4 digit code). Also, since this lets you control so much, the obvious questions are will it allow you to lock axles in 4Hi (and maybe rear in 2wd), and also disconnect the swaybar in 2wd and 4hi.
Would be nice to set those and still use the Tazer RAM for some of it's functions, some of which require the unit to be plugged into the OBDII port, so the AlfaOBD would need to be able to set the new settings and not have to leave anything plugged into the OBDII port.

AlfaOBD, like Auto Enginuity, only programs the BCM, TIPM, ABS, etc. It does not touch the ECU/PCM. It will set any feature available in the BCM, including TPMS threshold or TPIS. Since you can reprogram the TIPM (key fobs) you can do the TPMS reset from start to finish with AlfaOBD. Any features that are accessed through the PCM will require one of the aftermarket programmers and an unlocked ECM.

Can you explain what features we might want to modify in the ECU/PCM?

How come my tazer ram changes the high idle?

There are a number of devices on the market that tune specific functions of the ECM through the OBD port but the device has to remain in the port. The Tazer is one of them.

TPMS can be changed no problem with Alfa, as long as you have the 4 digit code.

So...bought the software off amazon through the link and sent two e-mails now for the activation code. Any feed back on how long the wait is for a response?

Will this method eliminate that "gear hold feature" when ascending hills with a heavy load. Annoying when you try to accelerate and you step on pedal to downshift and get nothing.

All 6.4 motors will not downshift due to computer programming when towing a heavy load on steep grade. The computer keeps you locked into a certain " optimal??" RPM.

So...definitely a puckering type of activity. I was able to change the TPMS to 40 F/R so no more light when I start up and no more automatic starting on the tire pressure graphic. You need the PIN for this and the video above does a good job walking you through. I used
https://www.ramforum.com/threads/tire-s ... bd.129984/
for the tire size change. There is a lot more going on here and it was a little harder to follow. You are messing with more systems when you do this but as of right now I have no CEL or other warning lights and my speedo is finally right based on GPS. I would say that it works as advertised, but, and this is a big but, you really need to be sure of what you are doing with this or you can really screw up your truck, up to bricking the computer, based on a few threads I read, which is why I say it was puckering. Definitely download your base settings file. I had trouble (meaning couldn't get it to work) with my google drive so in the end I created a word file and then e-mailed it to myself for a record.

I use the top gear selector if I want to shift down under load - and not the gas pedal... Has always worked for me.
When I'm towing, and have tow/haul on, I always have the top gear selector showing to use for engine braking. Occasionally I'll use it to instantly force a downshift - but in general, I prefer to lug than rev
The behavior you're experiencing is not limited to our 6.4's and it's not even limited to just rams...

TPMS reprogramming works well on a 2017, thanks a lot!
Somebody got an idea if the backup lights check can be disabled, added additional lights and get a message on every startup.

I swapped in leds to the reverse lights and told the truck there are now leds...no code or message any more.

If you check out the 2014 Ike Gauntlet Challenge on TFL Truck you will see what i am talking about. No other manufacturer had this trouble. Truck was stuck at 30 mph and took 2-5minuteslonger to make it up hill.
They couldnt believe it themselves and re-did the test again with same result.

Thanks for the reply, I tried that but it still says Reverse lights not working.
But it seems the rewiring for european certification moved the reverse lights to the trailer outputs. As we need amber turn signals in Germany the clear factory reverse lights housings are used for turn signals with amber bulbs. When i used the truck reverse light diagnostic function the reverse lights stayed dark, but lit up when using the trailer reverse light diagnostic function.
Nonetheless it seems with this software I might be able to throw out all the error cancelling resistors on my HID's and cargo cam CHMSL.
btw PTO menu can be coded/activated but will not work setting a RPM

Yeah - I saw those series of videos in 2014 after i got my truck. The results were disappointing.
But it was not a downshifting issue - the truck was already in 1st gear.
Stock 6.4's with 4.10 diffs run 4083 RPM at 30mph. The programming prevents the powertrain from accelerating to 6000 rpm, shifting into 2nd, slowing back down, shifting down into 1st, accelerating to 6000 rpm, shifting into 2nd, slowing back down.......and so on
