Lest we forget, it's about a 10G price option for a Cummins/ Aisin combo. Let's see, a stock PW non Tradesman model commands $50K+ so give or take with new features probably $60K-$70K for a diesel PW.

What I'm really interested is will there be a new Quad Cab model? The first series is just likely Gen 3- early Gen 4 for the power train so all said and done 5.5 and later is where the real big deal will be at.

I sure hope they keep the Tradesman with Power Wagon equipment just give it more distinct features.

I’ll say this, if the TRX looks close to this, I’ll have to give it a serious look. Something like this could be worth trading my Power Wagon and Challenger Hellcat for.

I like it a lot, finally a vehicle that will fight the Raptor head on. However I'd stick to my PW and I think with how every automaker is doing it, better to hold off on the first production run and wait how they'll update and map out the bugs that need to be fixed.

I don't think it's getting new sheet metal like the 2019 1500's did. But the rear door looks larger. It remains to be seen if it's actually larger in the rear with a flat floor like the rebel.

Image

The Rebel has sharper lines, this truck looks like it's using the current sheet metal with the new design elements grafted on.

The Fairlead is interesting, perhaps moving to synthetic?

The Parking Sensors look odd and it does have a sonar sensor near the fairlead, so this is likely a production model and not a test mule. But it could be a test mule, however, I doubt it.

Also, notice up close, there is a Camera under the Ram logo and there is a Camera attached under the side mirror, likely a wide angle lane change camera.

Something doesn’t feel right with this truck. Why is it out in the open at a grocery store with no camo? Why does the hood look like it’s not shut all the way or misaligned? Why are all the lights on?

If it's just some cosmetic BS I'm not going to get worked up about trading. Not a big fan of all that plastic. It always fades/chalks with age....always.

Same crap tires. That's at least a $1200 loss right there to throw them away and replace with something with a sidewall.

It's Michigan and it's cold. I've run into the store a lot of times with auto start going here in Idaho during the winter.

The hood though, yeah, I bet that's just how it is. The Rebel has sort of the same thing going on with the plastic trim and metal.

Why no camo? Usually, when the reveal is this close, next month's Detroit Autoshow, it's not uncommon for early leaks like this. The wife and I spotted the all-new Ford Ranger in Moab and sent photos to Jalopnik months before it was unveiled to the public or officially announced. So it does happen.

I really wonder if the reason why they have not taken the upgrades to the PW seriously is: They really don't want to take away from the Jeep line, as it really outsells the PW.

Ram pickups 2017 --- 44,850

Jeep Wrangler 2017 --- 190,522
Jeep Grand Cherokee 2017--240,696

Kind of like the Corvette-Camaro competition.

I doubt that's the reason. It's like apples to watermelons comparing the two.

I think it's just the reality of having to start with a 2500 body/ drivetrain and adding a few things to make it better off road. I'm kind of surprised they even added the extra link to the long arms, to be honest.

And no interior pics?

I would have sat there and waited for the driver to come out and just start bombarding them with questions.

I wonder what the added dinglebarry is on the roof between the cab lights is.

Also, there is an added protrusion under the drivers mirror. 360 degree camera maybe?

It almost looks like a photoshop job to be. But how frikin good can people be at that? I mean its not a 1500 front bumper grafted on there, its literally a complete different bumper.

im sure anything is possible for someone well versed in photoshop. to me it looks like real photos but staged. like it was posed and specific shots were taken. lights being on and lack of anything besides exterior lead me to believe that. just doesnt give the vibe of amatuer cell phone pics from a random guy visiting a grocery store
