Perfect world PW

Post by DiazOsos » Tue Nov 27, 2018 8:13 pm

I’m just kinda curious and not that FCA Ram care. But... what do wish was offered as a option or improved on your PW?
I think everyone including me wish they had 2 sets of Duratracs, 1 to shit on and the other to cover it up. But I kinda wish Ram would offer a larger fuel tank for this opec approved truck. I think more armor on the pumpkins, oil pan and tranny should be stock and I wish they offered a regular cab version too. I also wish the cab lights were optional like on the tradesman.
I think a flat paint option like OD , Black and FDE would be cool too with the blacked out trim. I would also consider ( if done right ) a factory pioneer tool rack on the inside of the bed to be nice for your shovel, axe highlife etc. Oh yeah, Change the spare tire location to a in bed option rack of some sort and replace it with a rear winch option or at least shelf.I know it’s bunny rabbits and unicorns but the guys using these usually have some great ideas!

I really like the regular cab pic. Almost like a rubicon recon edition.

I'd like a Quad Cab with an 8-foot bed.

I wish that Ram would let someone else design their drivetrains. Cummins, Aisin, AAM and Borg Warner seem to have things figured out.

I wish we were 10 years ago when powerwagons were real trucks not pavement princesses with cooled seats and tv screens everywhere. Oh an you could easily get a reg cab long bed with a g56 and 4.56 gears. See what you've all left behind! Perfection.😁😁

And yet I prefer to drive my 08. To be honest I don't like the new truck. Too much of a disconnect. Same reason new cars arnt drivers cars.

I’ll play along...

35” tires standard (they should have done that when they did the 6.4L/radius arm front/coil sprung 11.5” rear update).
4.88 gears.
Manual transmission option.
Ditch the CAD for locking hubs.
Beefier and better coverage skid protection.
Should come with an “off-road mode” that disables all stability control/ABS/torque management. Make it a PITA to access if they must, like “track mode” in supercars.
Bigger gas tank, or option for an auxiliary tank in the spare location, relocating the spare to the bed.
Option for factory OBA system sized for tire fills and air tools.
Upfitter package.
Special PW high clearance front and rear bumpers.

I'll add:

7.0 liter Hellephant Hemi.
4:1 T-case.
8 speed auto trans w/6.5:1 first gear that can be locked out for normal highway driving.
Nanny free sway bar disconnect front & rear, or at least 40 MPH limit.
Lockers in any range.
Engine & trans skid plate.
Body line shaped utility bed. (like the Royal sport bed)
2000 watt inverter for running any power tools (it is a Power Wagon after all)
Power running board rock sliders...

Or I'll just take a Legacy Power Wagon and be happy!

breather lines should be extended and mounted in such a way they are more readily accessible/Visible

Lockers should work in 4 high and 2hi, even if you have to minimize speed to an extent, 4lo is too much sometimes.

offroad/vehicle information data via uconnect..like SRT but not.

snorkel as a factory option

linex/bed protection standard

Front Grill Camera/offroad use

larger alternator standard with a better Winch use RPM modulation

in/out switch for winch in cab

led Cargo light standard

Auxiliary switch panel standard

trussed/ upgraded tube welding on front axle

you know, the basics
2018 Powerwagon-6.4 Hemi
Nanny kill switch and Locker Bypasses
Thuren Tuned King 3.0 & 2.5 Pintop Stage 3/2
17 Method NV-Toyo RT 37

My list for 2019 or 2020

1. Ditch the Dura Trash for BFG KM3s or Toyos
2. 35" Tires
3. Rock Sliders
4. Missing Skid
5. Re-do that silly ass tail pipe
6. Synthetic winch line
7. Wireless remote standard
8. 24K Topo maps loaded on Uconnect
9. Tail gate dampener(really, we dont have that, come on)
10. Bed power out lets. ( come on, my 2005 Titan had one) but at a 120V as well, so you can work on a job from the tail gate.
11. 4:1 t/case
12. More reliable lockers usable in 4H with a slightly higher speed limit.
13. Lower weight through use of aluminum, high strength steel and the new blocks they have coming.( better gas mileage and traction on climbs)
14. Engineer lower profile for diffs.( ok this one may be out there)
15. 360 Cameras
16. 12" Unconnect and new light duty interior.( yes I realize this will mean old timers never buy another PW  )
17. Extend Breather lines
18. Rear bed steps
19. Auxiliary switches
20. Angled front bumper
21. Remote Reservoir shocks
Last edited by FordyceCreekTrail on Tue Dec 04, 2018 1:34 pm, edited 3 times in total.
2018 Flame Red, Moon Roof, Dual Alternators, Ram Boxes sadly Ram ran out of, Luxo Package with 8.4 UConnect, Enter and Go with remote start, Auto Wipers and Lights. Added missing skids and White Knuckle sliders. 35" BFG KM3s. Procal and Warn wireless remote for winch.

I like these right here.

I'll add better aux switches, I really like the switches found in the Ford Raptor, which is a better implementation than the current Aux switches.

Image

Carry over the upfitter concept from the Jeep JL so we can easily add things like lights.

A larger gas tank would be cool I suppose.

Out of all of that a 4:1 tcase would be my favorite WISH.

I'd be happy with a reliable valvetrain ala no MDS lifters and a button which got rid of 100% of the traction control at any time.

Dump the CAD.

Ability to kill all traction control in 4WD.

Bring back 4:56 gearing.

Redesign the front of the truck to give better off road vision. The 3G trucks were much better with regards to this. Won't happen though.

Get rid of the Duracraps.

Well here is a small bit of info for all of u. I have looked closely at the test mule we have in our test garage and it will have the same drive train for now. There is a small update to the trans but can't say what. Also the front end will be a little longer it seems.
