Bottle jacks

Post by trmat79 » Sun Oct 28, 2012 11:30 am

Hey guys looking to buy two bottle jacks to be able to rotate my tires during oils changes. Any one have suggestions? I measured yesterday and from ground to front and rear axle is approx 13-14" so I will need something in that range. Thanks

For bottle jacks, it's hard to beat Harbor Freight. Don't forget your 20% off coupon, found in most any magazine these days. I have a 4 ton & 12 ton from them. No issues so far. They both have the screw top, for more adjustment/height.

I don't mind spending a little more. I mean $30 jack holding a $40,000 truck doesn't feel right.

I must be really bad...I just went to Autozone and got a 6 ton bottle jack and 2 4 ton jack stands  . I spent about $50 all together and it works out pretty good. You could get one bottle jack and 4 jack stands if you dont mind :cash:

Alrighty then, get you some of these !!! http://www.goestores.com/storename/usja ... 91519.aspx This is their version of my 12 ton HF jack. Looks the same but is made in America by Americans $171----vs the $19 HF one.

http://www.goestores.com/storename/usja ... 97440.aspx These are comparable to the 12 ton HF jack stands. $401----vs the $69 HF ones.

http://www.phjjacks.com/merchant/mercha ... y_Code=MFJ $1085----vs the 4 ton HF for $69 on sale.

I wish i had the money to "buy American" all the time, but i don't, so i make do with what i can afford. I'm just sayin'.

Thanks. I understand the cost thing and all that and I probably spend more than I need to on things but I would rather buy once blah blah blah....I wish I could just get a hi-jack but I don't have rock sliders on the truck yet so that won't work when I rotate the tires in 3000 miles... decisions decisions.. :patriot:

I have a HF 20 ton bottle jack that I have been using for 20 years to jack up houses with. I've never had a problem with it. My life depends on it sometimes....

You may not have sliders, but----you DO have a class 4 hitch & 2 solid front tow hooks.

Item # LM-100 & BL-250 should work with little modification. http://www.hi-lift.com/accessories/index.html

Or use one of these. http://www.tractorsupply.com/champion-p ... le-1834119 I think i would modify it with another hitch pin hole set at 90* from the one thats already there. Then it could swing up & down, as well as left & right.

I like this idea!!! the only problem is that until I throw on sliders it is my understanding that jacking from the front or back will only get the front or back off the ground and I want to rotate tires front to back... of course with jack stands I could accomplish this as well.... so many decisions haha

I have 2 of these for that. (the old version) http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive ... 68056.html They are on sale now-----dont forget your 20% off coupon as well. I use the 4 ton bottle jack on the front pass side as well, because the front pumpkin is so far off center, the pass side does not go up like the d-side does.
