Amsoil Severe Gear is my pick for fluid. I use the stock gasket that came with the truck. It was in perfect condition when I changed mine last year. I will probably change the oil this year to see how it is doing. If it looks good I will try a 2 year interval. If you need the Amsoil, send me a pm.

At least twice by now. Probably 500, 1500 and 5000 are good intervals.
your talking about the engine and not the diffs right?
I was talking about the diffs, but yes the engine would benefit from this treatment as well (using proper oil for the break in period).

I think Marcus means when it's brand spanking new.

I'm at 15k intervals. Which is just about every two oil changes if you're sticking to the 7500 miles. I run Amsoil too.

Another thing to consider, when you drain the diff fluid, you're not getting all of it, unless you open up the ends and drain the axle tubes as well. So if most of the problems with the new lube from the factory, and left over whatever, changing it those few times early on, might help get everything out. When your axle spins, it pushes fluid into the axle tubes.

Check out the video series from Banks Power on this.

with the dana 44 in the jeeps, i would drain the dif, then jack up each side of the axle individually and drain remaining fluid to the center dif. this would net a sizable amount to drain further.

can you do the same with the AAM axles?

I change my engine oil even more frequently than that (< 2k miles).

Here's a riddle for you:

I ordered and purchased my Power Wagon brand new in 2014
I've been following the recommended oil change frequency...
I use PUP in my engine...
I never manage to get 2000 miles on between oil changes...
How many times have I had my oil changed?

Seven time. The manual states to change the oil every six months or when the computer tells you, whichever comes first.

Kind of but not really. You’ll get a little bit maybe, but probably not. On the flip side though, when you’re adding fluid you have to do the jack dance to fill the hubs and make sure the wheel bearings are lubed. The only way to really drain the hubs are to remove them.

From page 754 from the owners manual:

2500 - 3500 Models:

Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 8,000 miles (13,000 km) or twelve months on 2500 - 3500 trucks, whichever comes first.
