Well, I ended up going both routes. Obviously the Rotopax is locked and the VP is just strapped in. (Same ratchet strap is holding the chains.)

Did you guys not get the ram bed seperater / bed extender? Holds my gas cans great. I thought it came with the truck. I know it came with mine. Maybe only Rambox versions?
