17x10 Katla wheel on PW

Post by EpicWagon » Sun Sep 09, 2018 9:13 pm

I'm planning on mounting up some 35" ATii's on some 17x10 Katla wheels on my '16 PW, only suspension upgrade I have is the Thuren 1.5' coil , track bar and shock leveling system, truck sits great drives great .

I have a feeling I'll be looking for some new fender flares if the tire hang out to far, but I don'y suspect that I'll have any rubbing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Not sure if you’ll get into the fender liner/pinch weld with 35s, but certainly would if you went to 37s. -16mm offset is pretty far out there.

Seems like AEV designed this wheel to support their 37/40” tire Prospector and fender flare sales.

Why are you going with the 17x10's? The 8.5" width and offset would fit that setup much better.

Well, I didn't think it would hurt to have a little extra tire on the ground, then of course it a big wide wheel, and I'm having second thoughts, might just eat the shipping back and have a credit with them for when the 8.5 come back around.

Yeah, there is no need for that 10-inch wheel unless you want to run 15 inch wide tires are something. I really like the looks of the KATLA, it's a great looking wheel. But a bit too wide for my tastes.

That is excatly what it was really designed for. 13.50 and wider, 37 and up.

If I was running 40's I'd be running the Toyo 13.50 - right now I'm running 37x12.50's on the OE wheel down to 18psi all around Moab all the time bashing on them without issues.

You'd be fine with an 8.5 or 9-inch wheel - you might want to consider bitting the bullet. Just seems a bit wide for such a tiny little tire. :poke:

Cutting metal to fit 35's is kinda lame.

If you'll consider selling the wheels, send me a PM.

Sent the 10" wheel back to AEV was super easy Fed Ex, and they did a credit and sent me the Katla 8.5's that I was waiting for ... so now they are on, finally! Look great The 35" 12.5x 17 Toyo ATii's extreme tire sticks out an inch or so, perfect.

Guys at AEV were huge help
