That thing looks almost as bad as my POS Fusion bumper.
Does it have zero gusseting behind a welded seam where the clevis mounts are attached, too?!? The base metal is much thicker than stock, but if I didn’t have to pay an exorbitant shipping cost I would have sent it back.

As far as looks go, though, I think it seems alright.

Interweb says that's about a $1450 rear bumper and you paid $100 extra for the clevis mounts. Did they just stick them to the face of the bumper with nothing behind them? Web says the bumper is all 3/16" and 1/4" steel. Is the shell 3/16" with no gussets or bracing? Looks decent from the outside, but I may have to cross it off my list.

That bumper is 100% for show, it's going to fold over if you hit it.

The fusion just had 2 gussets behind the bumper, and they was the mounting points. I ended up welding more metal behind the bumper to make it stronger.

What the market needs is a rear GRUMPER

You are exactly right. This bumper is not engineered at all and I’m guessing that TDK makes these in his garage and doesn’t actually test them. I haven’t bothered to contact TDK either - what’s the point? I can’t send it back and I needed a new bumper. So like I said, it just looks pretty and that’s about it.

Also, the mount for the trailer plugs didn’t fit right due to the thicker material so I had to very carefully adjust the stock clips to get it to fit; then stabilized it with RTV (aviation trick). There was interference between the trailer plug and the closest back-up sensor, plus the debacle with the license plate lights. Also, you can’t easily mount the license plate when installed so I had to bolt it up before mounting the bumper. The welds were also not that great, and look like someone in high school did them compared to the welds on my White Knuckle rocker skids.

Overall I would not recommend anyone to Throttle Down Kustoms for the rear bumper. It’s not built for crawling, isn’t well engineered, and the annoyances on install are not worth the high price I paid.

I'd have forced them to pay the shipping back. That is on the level of dishonest.

That sounds horrid. I'd rather buy a bumper from Kye again.

Right now I'm stuck on 775Fab or Kinzer front bumper and the ADD Stealth Fighter rear bumper. Best options I've found so far. If I was 100% happy i'd have already pulled the trigger.

100% with you on the Kinzer front bumper. They are very nice. It’s on my list too. I wish they offered a model for stock fog lights and a matching back bumper too.
2nd that! Kinzer with stock fog lights and I can’t find a rear bumper I’m completely happy with either.

Ha!!! You got chocolate in my peanut butter. Seriously though, somebody could make some money on this. Are you listening Kinzer? OEM fog light option and a matching rear bumper.

Oem fog lights aren't great and are too big. Just do a nice baja or rigid square fog replacement in the correct color tone to match your headlights. Also replace your headlights...

Factory fogs on my 2005 are from Hella and they are great, especially with the HIR capsule upgrade.

I tried to order an Expedition One front bumper. They told me 9 to 12 weeks and to call to get a accurate ETA at 7 weeks. At 7 weeks they told me my order wasn't started and didn't know when it would be. They said they'd contact me a week later but never did. They ignored every one of my email and phone calls after 7 weeks (radio silence). I cancelled the order at 12 weeks, a week after I cancelled the order they emailed and said the bumper was in production and the order couldn't be cancelled or there would be a restocking fee. I asked to have the order cancelled anyway but they never refunded my money. A week later I did a chargeback. To this day there has been no further communication past them telling me I couldn't cancel the order.

There are people who have ordered their rear bumper and received them. As I understand they waited more than six months and long string of "two more weeks".

I got my Expedition One after about 9 weeks. And no, the Park Assist doesn't work. Haven't addressed the camera yet either.
