Shock scoring

Post by Bigdodge » Mon Aug 13, 2018 11:21 am

Lets try this again. So I just installed my thuren kit with King shocks about a month ago and everything is better than I expected. Looking over some things tonight I noticed some scoring on one of the front shocks. Anyone have an opinion on this? I have a set of Kings that r about 15 years old for reference and they don't show any marks at all. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

Edit:. I have contacted Don and as usual he is all over this and taking care of me. Still not sure if I should send in both fronts as one exhibits the same lines but without being able to feel it.

And do they have the stainless steel shafts?

Do you live in an area of the country that has lots of hard minerals in the sand? (zircon, garnet, bauxite etc)

Yeah, that looks a lot like dirt abrasion from a particulate.

Do they make any sort of "seal savers" for trucks, like they do for dirtmobiles?

offroading at the badlands in Attica Indiana I've seen isssues with particulates for sure. all ujoints make noise if you don't rinse off coming off those trails. My wife needed new rear drive shaft ujoints after two separate trips. Something is in the Attica Indiana soil for sure.
