Two tone paint powerwagon

Post by HeavyDuty » Fri Mar 23, 2018 2:18 am

I am in love with what some of the Chevy dealerships are doing this year by selling with two tone paint. Just like the 70’s and 80’s. I had a 81 Chevy Sierra grande with black and chrome illusion fire in between. My 17 people is black. Has any one seen any cool two tones to add to a black pw. I might end up doing it. Shouldn’t be very expensive just adding the middle strip. I’d like to hear your guys opinions. Thanks

My wagon is white, lower of the panels black, with a red pinstripe. I dig it. Kind of looks like a work truck (it is) kind of looks like a party wagon (it is) kind of looks like ‘what the fuck did you do to that truck’ but that’s mostly due to the 5-10 dents in each body panel hahahaha

Ya. That does sound cool. I’m think about more of the retro two tone styles.

I think you’re seeing it on Chevys and GMs because it matches the lines of the truck. The creases in the fenders are straight, and a two tone paint job can be made to look like it belongs. The current Ram body panels don’t have that same straight line continuity from the front to the back. They have lots of curves, and I think it would be really hard to make a two tone paint job look good on a Ram. Check out a Rambox truck, it’s hard to find an angle where the bottom edges of the box look straight.

My first truck was a ‘88 Dakota, two tone. My second truck was a ‘96 Ram 1500, two tone. As far as I’m concerned, that’s a style trend that can stay in the past.

Once I peeled all the garish stickers off my 15 I noticed it was kinda 2 toned. Nothing like the retro stuff, but I like it.

Tri-color jobs is what I like. White top(from the lower part of the back glass and up), and a gold metallic black lower with the base color a non metallic flame red. Either a blue or white pin stripe to separate the black and red.

I LOVE this one.

This one has a 3.5" lift, bigger OWL tires & the paint------for $8000 more. :secret: Much more bang-for-the-buck if you opt for the Power Wagon Pkg. I'm just sayin'.
