White lettering on tires

Post by HeavyDuty » Thu Mar 22, 2018 2:25 am

:vomit: I don’t know how other people feel but the white lettering is kinda dated in my part of the world. Has anyone used a product to get rid of the white or am I gonna have to go to the tire shop to have them Installed inside out.
Thanks in advance

Wait until your next balance/rotation and have them flipped. In the meantime you could try tire black. It’s not tire shine, it’s a gel with some kind of black stain in it that makes your tires look new, not like glazed donuts. Works great for those of us who live on dirt roads. It may black out your white letters because it sure as hell soaks in your skin for weeks if you don’t wear gloves.

Or use a grinder with a well worn sanding disc pad to just remove the paint, if it bothers you that much. I am in the-I like white or red lettering crowd. But i am kinda dated.

Believe he was referring to Grabbers. BFG’s latest race tires are Red, White, and Blue lettering and they look amazing. :patriot:

If you try a grinder on some BFGs, you just get to more white. How do I know? Inside rubbing on a set of flipped 35s on my old GMC.

I was thinking the same on the white being throughout. I Hate wasting money but I hate whitewalls even more. So I guess I’ll get the tire shop to remove and remount. As for the red. I’m not sold on that. Thinking it will be a short lived fad. Thanks guys

I guess technically these are RED and WHITE

But they still would compliment a RED truck nicely!

“Short lived” is relative, your King shocks are a racing product. One could also say automobiles are a short lived fad in the scope of humanity’s time on Earth, but that’s deep and I’m sober.

Oh, and the only thing that compliments a tall red truck properly is a tall redhead.

I was referring to how quickly racing products update (generally). The technology from one year to the next changes a lot. Tires last a few years, shocks don’t change much aside from teams doing custom stuff. But racing parts in general change a lot, fast. That’s what I was referring to

And that's the beauty of tires... they wear out in a couple of years and you can jump on the next trend.

Is there a difference between white walls and white lettering? Because I can't tell.
