4th Gen Frame Rail Width/Height

Post by EasyDoesIt » Wed Feb 14, 2018 8:51 pm

Would someone be willing to measure there Frame Rails for me? I'm building sliders this weekend and need to get hardware ordered.

I would measure mine except i'm not home until Friday and want to order today.

I assume its about 4" wide by about 6" tall and was going to get 6" bolts to account for two 1/2" brackets on either side of the frame.

Need measurements of the frame under the doors where the rock slider legs would mount.

Thanks for any help,
Steve

Im about 1200 miles away from my truck. Otherwise I would bounce out into the garage and help ya out.

I think you are damn close though. I cant remember what size hardware my WK sliders used.

I’ll grab measurements if I get a chance. The frame along the mid section is generally 2.125” wide I believe. I think 4.5” long 1/2” bolts was what I used when I used two 1/2” sandwich plates and a locknut to mount my prototypes. If you mount at the interface of any frame tubes it’s about 3/8” wider.

Thanks guys, I picked up a tape measure and hit a dealership. About 3" wide by just under 8" is what I measured. I'll grab 5" bolts just to be safe. Can always add an extra washer or two if needed.

Thanks again.

Picked up a few 4-1/2" bolts for good measure.

There are detailed frame drawings on the builder site, which is linked from the bottom of the ram trucks home pages.
