im sure youve seen the new 1500 that was unvieled recently. all the chrome isnt my thing but the sport trim with everything color matched looks sharp imo. anyways is there any credible info on what direction the new 2500 is going ? with its running gear still fairly new i wonder if ram will carry that over to the new gen or scrap it and go with new running gear once again. seems like hear rumor of increased payloads ( likely not the case for the wagon) but this wouldnt meen the current axles, tcase , wouldnt continue service. transmission will likely be something new im guessing

Hopefully they ditch the suspension on the current trucks for an improvement. Drivetrain will see a lot of changes it seems based on the 1500’s but it’s likely to still be the same engines. The axles, trans, transfer case are already ridiculously well built and the payload numbers on the 2500/3500 trucks are comically massive. I’m hoping they add the electric assist motor to the HD’s but I won’t be the first one to buy one haha. But today’s Class III Truck is yesterday’s Class VIII Truck and the payload battle will go on. Other than that I’ll leave it to the enthusiast magazines to make up useless BS until well after the trucks are released.

At some point I'd like to know so I can decide if I want to sell the 16 and buy the last model of this gen or wait and buy the next. If I wait, I'll have to wait an extra year as there is NO way I'm buying a year one truck. Did that with the 05 and that's how I ended up with an 07.

It does not seem to matter anymore. First year or 5th year, 1st Gen or 5th Gen, Ram, Ford, whatever---they ALL have issues. Sad but true.
