2019 Wagon

Post by Lazarus » Sat Jan 20, 2018 8:12 pm

I'm in the market for a new wagon but am wondering if I should wait until the 2019 model comes out. Anybody know/heard anything about if the 2019 power wagon is getting the same look as the 2019 rebel? If so I'm gonna wait

You'll have to wait till Jan 2019 to learn about the 2020 HD model and the Power Wagon. The 2019 will be the same as the 2017 revisions.

There is a good chance according to my source that the Power Wagon will be getting some of the things you already saw in the Rebel. There were two recent concept vehicles, a rebel and a power wagon. Go back and dig up the Rebel TRX a few design elements made their way over. I'm told the Macho concept has a few clues to what's being carried forward.

First year you also get all the not quite fully baked new stuff as well as the cool new stuff.

I expect nothing at all for 2019. 2018 added car play and that was about it. I suppose Ram could try to play catch up and roll out 360 cameras or something, but given 2020 will certainly get all that and more I really doubt it. While waiting for the 2020 to see what comes out would be cool, I needed a new truck in 2017 and could not wait 3 years. The other point that was made is 2020 will be the first model year for changes, and especially given Rams history I would be nervous. Better to have a few years of fixing things and perfecting a new model before you spend 60K. 2 Years into the Raptor roll out and its rough. So question is waiting another 3-4 years or a get an 18 now?

All good points. I guess I could get a 2018 and then trade it in in a few years if I wanted to. I love my 2005 but it will be time to upgrade soon.

The average age vehicles leave the road is at the 12 year mark. You are past that already. If you truck has to be reliable, it may be time.

My old truck was an 05 at 250K and it was definitely enough. Test drove it for someone the other day and and I could not believe how badly it drove. Did not even notice driving it daily.

I just passed 80,000 miles on my 05. I bought it 2 years ago with 66,000 miles on it. It's in surprisingly good shape for its age. Problem is no dealerships wants to give me more than 12k for it on trade and it blue books for over 20k, but nobody wants to spend that much on a truck that's 13 years old that's not a cummins.
