I beat on my 2005 pretty hard. Its 9500lb towing at the time and power definitely made it a half ton. I abuse stuff and destroyed an Xterra from the same year. I was terrified of the rear diff for years, the one on my Xterra exploded right away. There were a couple of problems, the worse was the locking diffs started out with 1 spider gear, thats why my Xterra one blew. Nissan DENIED the issue despite the fact by mid 06 they amazingly had 3 gears to the one. That being said I towed up to 12K, got stuck in mud towing a back hoe, and recovered plenty of large trucks stuck while building our new home and the Diff held on the Titan. Only real failures were pretty standard fair, A/C, cracked headers( thats all Japanese trucks), ect.

Funny, but who are we to talk? Our 3/4 ton trucks can’t legally carry 1500 pounds.
Ha. My half ton ram, wifes yukon and old dodge grand caravan have higher payloads than my power wagon lol.

And payload isn't a legal term...
Exceeding Registered GVWR, exceeding axle weight rating, exceeding tire weight rating are what's illegal. (At least in NY) Those weights are all directly measurable with their roadside scales. :lockedandloaded:

Breathing Oxygen with out a license is illegal in NY. I still remember crossing the state line and reading all the signs about what not do years ago and then seeing a 35MPH sign on a divided interstate and realizing we were all cruising 75-80....I just would not make it out east I am afraid. Then again I barely make it out west

Very true, but our trucks are very specifically designed for off-road capability. It's a compromise that I'm willing to live with. If you want haul 2000 lbs, get a standard Ram 2500 with the 392 and the 4.10 gears for some nice towing capacity.

Or, get some air bags for your Power Wagon... :)

A couple of more observations. The ride improved dramatically already. Seems like the shocks needed to break in or something. Very nice now. Other thing is idle is rougher then any vehicle I have ever driven new. I assume its MDS or something.
