Firestone Riderite bags with Daystar cradles
Installed bags, cradles, and on board air today. Pretty straight forward. I used the lower brackets that came with my bags because that seemed like way less of a headache than threading a custom hole and the brackets are less than 1/2 inch thick. Bags need 5 psi minimum. They rest in cradles at normal ride weight but will separate when rear axle goes full droop. Only custom mod was a slightly longer tapered head bolt going from lower bracket to the day stars. Had to grind a bit of the bolt off, but the bags seat in the tapered part of the cradles and don't ever actually rest on the bottom.
Went with a wireless one compressor with remote.

I wouldn't have done bags without it. I often haul heavy bed loads relatively short distances; the inconvenience of locating a compressor or hooking up my portable one would have kept me from using them. It has 3 presets and won't let you deflate any lower than 5 psi. Airing up/down literally at the press of a button. Compressor install is super easy as well.

Well that sounds EXACTLY like what I want for my bag setup. I dont necessarily want/need a wireless remote control for it, but a button in the truck to automatically inflate/deflate would be tits for sure.israelstanage wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 10:43 pmI wouldn't have done bags without it. Didn't mean to cause confusion; it is a remote system. But no wires. Tuck it away and only get it out when you need it. It is backlit but my flash is washing it out. Also has a thingy on the back like a garage door opener. Auto sleeps when not in use.

Link to the compressor/remote?

That's the one. Boys at 4 wheel parts recommended it. They said they have had quite a but of positive feedback. Also chose the bags I did based on their recs.
Re: Firestone Riderite bags with Daystar cradles

Re: Firestone Riderite bags with Daystar cradles
Is the compressor standing up ok in that spot? Just concerned about water.

I believe they are designed to be installed under the truck, exposed to all of the elements of daily driving.

Still working great. Been through plenty of rain and weekly washes with under carriage blasts. As noted by olyelr, they are designed with exposure in mind.
Re: Firestone Riderite bags with Daystar cradles
cool. Think I might mount mine under the front of the bed, but am considering the same spot you had
