Would seem sad to have to pay xenforo yearly licensing fees

Free and Open Source :patriot:

None of the extra features would be worth paying for IMHO
I'm here for the content - not any bells and whistles
I believe vBulletin's is more though. Free and open source is my choice too, but depends on how crazy you want to get a feature set without spending the time doing it yourself.

Some of the things like responsive images, can be fixed fast with CSS.

Yeah, when you sign up 2014 is the highest year in the "what year is your PW?" field. I noticed that when I signed up with my 2015.
Yup, I assume that's because new fields haven't been added. Not a huge dealo.
If the year is wrong, then it should probably come off for now...
I don't remember it showing up in that pane before the site recovery...
Much of what we do for advice on the forum depends on the Model Year. 2014's have 3/4 of the nannies (no hill descent for example)

It was always in our profiles. The site needs some loving. But I think the two admins have a lot on their hands. Gotta bear with them.

Notifications can be a PM or a subscription to a thread. Old subscriptions that were made before the new site may be disabled or not currently working.

You'll also get them for replies to a thread if I quote you, which I really like. This is super useful on a few other forums I visit that tell me if someone quoted me. When I don't necessarily want to follow along but am willing to answer questions directed to me.
