Coolant Leak?

Post by IIIOIISTER » Sat Sep 16, 2017 3:59 pm

Been seeing coolant dripping randomly on the right radius arm/ground since I purchased the '17 Power Wagon a couple months ago. I peeled back the plastic flap underneath the right wheel well and found that the liquid was simply dripping out of a plastic tube about an inch long (coolant overflow?). Unfortunately I was unable to squeeze my camera under there to take a picture. Is is the common occurrence or is it worth further investigation? Thanks.

If the tube is on or near the firewall. That would be moisture dripping from the a/c evaporator. Nothing to worry about. The amount that comes out is determined by the humidity in the air. What you can do. Is put your finger in the puddle and see if it's just water or anti-freeze.

Your coolant over-flow is on the coolant reservoir mounted on the radiator.

I had a feeling it had something to do with the A/C, cuz I've dipped my finger in there numerous times and each time it looked and felt like water with no odor. Thanks Rusty!

I'm sure that's what he's seeing, but the coolant tank on the newer trucks is on the passenger side of the firewall.

I haven't been under the hood on the newer trucks yet. :(
