power wagon went onto it's lid at Uwharrie
I can't say much about the details of who this is but I know it isn't me or ram4rocks but I'm pretty sure it's a power wagon. It's on the Daniel trail at Uwharrie national forest after the 2nd ledge going up the main hill. From what I can see he's got a few mods but It wasn't riding like the swaybar was disconnected. My truck has been on this stretch of Daniel maybe 50 times but I never took that line!

Must be a PW. Heard the passenger ask if he had the lockers on in the 2nd video. Looks like a 4G with a snorkel.

This is the thread from North Carolina's local offroad community. And yes it was a power wagon but I don't know details of it's specs yet. I'm really curious! And I'm amazed I didn't know about this guy!?

YES! Morgan - RAM4ROKS. He's way more active on the FB group, although he went pretty silent recently. Insurance is still up.
That video doesn't highlight the roll-over as well, if you want to see it in better detail to see what happened, watch this one:

Ram4rocks has a black power wagon and I don't think he has as many mods on his power wagon as this one?

Yeah, saw another Vid posted on the PW Instagram the other day. Made me Cringe !!! Totally Sucks, looks like a a big drop off from that last Vid posted.... doesn't look like much room for error on that line ???
Then there was another video they had to drag it on its roof to get it to level ground to upright it..... CRAP !!!

Re: power wagon went onto it's lid at Uwharrie
Drop off looked easy. Two points I see, speed and going off at a really really bad angle with that speed. That was a bad transition. He approached it like he was changing lanes, not going downhill.
Not only that, it was a downhill transition while going uphill on the approach to the transition, which means I bet that visibility out the front of the hood was reduced. Lesson to learn here, slow WAY DOWN and stick your head out the window to verify a transition before you plow through it thinking you know what you're doing. When you think you know, that's when accidents happen.

Sounds like he's giving up on the truck. Who knows though it may depend on how insurance sees it. He doesn't think he's got the money to keep it.

Most insurance will not pay if off road or on track. To get that coverage. You will pay more. If he gets any insurance money. I would be surprised.

I switched to State Farm because they cover offroad. I've heard USAA and possibly Allstate cover also.RustyPW wrote:Most insurance will not pay if off road or on track. To get that coverage. You will pay more. If he gets any insurance money. I would be surprised.
Re: power wagon went onto it's lid at Uwharrie
A guy over on dtx flipped on his lid at speed and totaled the cab. He got a cab from a wrecking yard and swapped everything over and was able to keep his truck with a relatively small cash layout

Just read your coverage. Most will cover, but a few have very specific exceptions. It's in that portion of your coverage you need to read over. I just read over mine recently. Particularly racing and practice events.
On a lighter note, Progressive will not cover damage to my vehicle in the event of a civil war.

Re: power wagon went onto it's lid at Uwharrie
Wow that sucks, never rolled a rig before. Definitely took that ledge too casually, that's a monster. Regardless of speed I don't think he realized how big it was. I would not take that on except straight on. One thing I have learned after swapping a solid axle to my Old Montero, with a solid axle it goes fast. You can tip a IFS over until the mirrors touch. But while a Solid keeps you level far longer, when you go, you go.
2018 Flame Red, Moon Roof, Dual Alternators, Ram Boxes sadly Ram ran out of, Luxo Package with 8.4 UConnect, Enter and Go with remote start, Auto Wipers and Lights. Added missing skids and White Knuckle sliders. 35" BFG KM3s. Procal and Warn wireless remote for winch.
Re: power wagon went onto it's lid at Uwharrie
That sucks. Having rolled my 2nd Gen, it's hard to repair. Broken axleshafts and T Cases are easy. Crushed fire walls and roofs not as much. (Even with the Exo Cage).
Insurance is good for us out west as it covers forest roads so most trails are legit. Not sure in private parks. (I did do a lot of damage to my '01 in Illinois in a private park, but never tried to claim.)
My buddy did get a nice check after destroying the body of his truck on Patriot in Colorado.

Sounds like this recently happened on Dutch John trail. The skin on fords really don't seem to handle much.
