Re: Anyone care to guess?
After driving the truck around a bit with the new linkage it is pretty obvious why RAM uses isolated linkage. The new solid linkage transmits a ton of noise into the cab. There is a whine that comes through the linkage starting at about 35mph. I thought I was going crazy until I put my hand on the shifter. I think the large weight on the factory linkage is a harmonic dampener.

Mines quiet...maybe you should adjust the length?

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

I took the new linkage out and went back to OEM. I lockwired the linkage to the shifter and transfer case arms so it can't fall out. The sound was driving me crazy.

Now just get yourself an extra set of those little bushings. Using wire to ensure you don't lose something if a failure occurs is an inexpensive, money well spent, thing to do.
When my kids had their first cars, once the exhaust started looking really rusted, I bought some thin gauge stainless steel fence wire on a roll. Cut off some 7' pieces, folded them in half, put one end in the vise & the other in the end of a hand held drill & spun it up. Looked braided. Made it much stronger. When the weather was nice, I wired it up in a few places just in case something let go. Easy to throw in the trunk for other things as well.

Re: Anyone care to guess?
This was my attempt at fixing my factory linkage. I have not tried to install it yet, however, i may just use factory bushings given the less then positive reviews.

I mean how hard would it be for Ram to address this. I mean good ball joints would cost them 20.00, but I bet this fix is under 1.00 and they have to be logging plenty of warranty issues.
2018 Flame Red, Moon Roof, Dual Alternators, Ram Boxes sadly Ram ran out of, Luxo Package with 8.4 UConnect, Enter and Go with remote start, Auto Wipers and Lights. Added missing skids and White Knuckle sliders. 35" BFG KM3s. Procal and Warn wireless remote for winch.
