2015 leveling kit for 35"s

Post by Shockracer » Wed Jun 14, 2017 5:55 pm

So my father-in-law just got out of his 2007 PW and into a 2015. I was able to fit 35s (well 315/70/17s) on his 07 with a little trimming and hammering the pinch seams in a little on the front. The 2015 is a much nicer PW and I really don't want to do that to it.

Has anyone had luck with a 1.5" or 2" puck to fit 35s on without having to cut or go with LA's?

Thank!

In the big scheme of things, a leveling kit will not help with fitting bigger tires (nor does a "lift"). Installing taller bumpstop's along with a lift kit would help, I guess, but it is not needed for 35's. They fit with the stock setup.

Yeah, just put them on dude. They fit. No rubbing, no cutting. First upgrade to my 2015 was Toyo Open Country AT/II's 35x12.50R17 E rated

35x12.5 fit on the '14+ stock trucks no problem with stock offset wheels. if you decrease the offset you "might" encounter rubbing during high axle articulation

I agree with what everyone else has said. The only time any form of lift helps for larger tires on any 2003-present Ram is if you put massive tires on, like 40's. In that case you need to look into bump stop drops so the tire doesn't eat into the tire sheet metal front clip at the top when you bottom out. But at that point you've already done pretty serious sheet metal work. For 38's I believe and anything smaller a lift does nothing at all for wheel fitment. Wheels are the biggest difference, clearances control arms next. Thuren has a tire fitment guide for different year trucks on his website that should give all the detail you need. If you need more specific info, just call Don or Aaron at Thuren Fab. They should know exactly what to say.

They do rub the radius arms at full lock but that's nothing to worry about. They clear the wells with room to spare.

I have 37's on a 16 no level kit or anything so he'll be fine with 35's

2015 leveling kit for 35"s

Post by Rodeoflyer » Thu Jun 15, 2017 7:08 pm

On another note, I just checked my new (well used $100 on the bay) 35" spare and its going to fit under the truck. One thing a 35 can do that a 37 can't

I hear you can burn the clutches on a clutch type limited slip if you use different diameter tires on the same axle not to mention heat buildup and what ABS/stability control would think about it :D .

Would the helical type limited slip we have be affected by different diameter tires if you had to mount up the smaller spare?
