Need CAD unit wiring diagram.

Post by waldo » Tue Jun 13, 2017 12:44 pm

I need to see if there is some positioning feedback wiring going back to some module or other.

I keep getting random 4WD shift in progress messages on the EVIC. Naturally the dealer can't duplicate it because it's random.

My guess is that it's not 100% in the disengaged position since it stops if you put it in and out of 4H.

There should be a sensor of some sort to create the feedback loop, telling whether it is engaged or not.

Update. Had the truck in for the trans recall and had them look at this issue while it was there. They found the drive train control module was bad. Last time I had them look it didn't have any stored codes, this time it did. Should be fixed now.

My 16, my 07 doesn't have all that garbage.

From what I gather, the module was sending out the wrong/bad voltage to a bunch of sensors it looks at.

It's been doing that on and off since it was new and it just didn't set any codes until recently.

Is anyone making a manual CAD engagement option for our trucks like those which exist for the older 2nd gen rams? My truck is a 2015 and it would be nice to have 2wd lo when at a boat ramp in the future.

I have not seen a manual CAD kit for the new trucks yet, but they do have an electronic setup that makes the CAD not engage when putting it in 2 low.

Here is a thread I started a bit back about it, with a link to the kit...
