I can attest to the weird oil consumption as well it's about 1 quart of oil per 1000-1500 miles and the driving terrain seems to be the only delta (driving or dragging things up hill) seems to be the culprit for higher oil consumption I have tried Rp 5-30, I have tried rotella 5-40 . I've tried the Lucas additive for synth oils. I have even at the suggestion of a non Chrysler engine tech tied plain Dino 10-40 no joy all seems to be consistent. I'm just about to break the 100k total mileage I'm trying delo oil 5-40 at this moment as anther comparison. I will. It's that I have been running the wix 51515 filter so I know that contributes to the reading lower but this is pretty consistant. I have only noted minor black soot on the tail pipe but no smoke. All the research I did said it's normal for a hemi. Mine does not have mds I still need to run an oil analysis. But the truck runs fine. Though my g56 has sprung a leak so I'm focused on that right now .

Is it the rubber boot on the shifter ? Mine is leaking from there as well. On the to-do list when weather warms up a bit more.

I'm going to pull the console this weekend to confirm. I ordered a new boot via eBay as its apparently the easiest place to get it from. Ill update my build thread with what i find. as well as an update to the further adventures of my truck at the train station.

Well almost 600 miles in since adding the flush and additive . Most of the miles towing I've noticed no loss of oil.

I just changed oil in my 08' a few days ago. Used Rotella 5/40 full synthetic. It may be a while before I report back on oil consumption. Summer maybe. It is really the only time my truck sees any real RPM's, towing the camper. Other than that, it is geared so low, it does not need much rpms to do anything i do with it. :D

Block heaters RULE, in those temps ! Glad I checked off that box when I ordered mine. For $35, why would you not ? Anything colder than that & those glue on oil pan & trans heaters would prob be required as well.

The additives didn’t really do much . I just changed the oil with castrol edge 5-30 high mileage to see if a high mileage oil don’t burn off as bad

Maybe consider doing a compression test. If that comes up normal I'd be inclined to suggest trying a catch can on your pcv system.

This would make me crazy. I have never owned a vehicle in good operating condition that needed oil between oil changes.

By chance. And this is likely a small chance are you filling oil up and checking it before you run it and get the filter full? Run it for 20 seconds at bout 1500 rpm then shut down and check oil. I know you probably do but some times that happens. You could easily lose most of a quart to that new Empty filter.

I'm going to add my truck to this list. 2010 w/ 150xxx miles. Use about a quart every 1,000-1,500 miles. Truck runs great, good oil pressure, no smoke noticed. I have always used syn 5w20 but switched from cheaper oriely brand to mobil1 and it seems to have increased oil consumption. Considering it runs well I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one and I'm not just completely missing something.
If I start listing Mods I would have to change the list daily
