Curious about process to order 2017 Power Wagon at dealershi
Hello all - I currently drive a 2013 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 Crew Cab and I'm looking to move into a 2017 Power Wagon. All that is available to me in Jacksonville, Florida (Southeast region as a whole) are Delmonico Red, Flame Red, Granite Crystal, Black, White, and Bright Silver.
I'm not interested in any those colors, and I'm really looking for Omaha Orange. Some folks think it's ugly, I, however, do not.
Any advice on how to order one in this color? I've spoken to a couple dealerships in my local area and I'm not getting clear responses, there seems to be apprehension on their part to do it.
Thanks in advance for any comments on this.

Re: Curious about process to order 2017 Power Wagon at deale
From what little I have read about this color, it is nearly impossible to get one ordered. Its a limited edition type color... the dealer has to order a minimum of ten or something like that.
Im pretty picky, but I would have no problem driving any of those colors you mentioned haha.

So just messing around on the Ram website the only way to get omaha orange on a power wagon is to build the truck as a tradesman model and add the power wagon package. Thats the only way I have found to order it, at least on the website

Re: Curious about process to order 2017 Power Wagon at deale
Thanks for the advice! Dealership said no to me, even showed m the order color options in the drop down. They are just telling me what they see. I think I'll order one in red, but I wish it was like BMW. You can order those in a slew of custom colors, it costs you, but it's an option to do so. I thought other manufacturers do the same, apparently not.
Re: Curious about process to order 2017 Power Wagon at deale
Yes.. Tradesman only. Not a 'fleet' per se... I think Ram saves up the orders for 10 at a time (so I've heard) but then will build/paint them at once. I love mine, gets tons of looks and attention. But be prepared for a wait. I also heard they are done with special colors for 2017 (from another forum) so you might be out of luck till 2018. If you want real answers get ahold of indytruckchampion from the cummins forum as he seems to be quite knowledgeable on the truck ordering process (and I think he can ship), guys there seem to love him. check out this link (http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/2013- ... olors.html) Below is some inspiration - good luck and let us know!

Hello madmanhiker,
There are 2 sets of color options for the Power wagon, one for the standard Power Wagon (color options below) and one for the base model Tradesman Power Wagon. If you want any of the custom colors you have to get the Tradesman version. To build a transman version on http://www.ramtrucks.com select Build & Price -> 2500/2017 -> model TRADESMAN (4x4) Crew 6'4' Box -> 6.4-Liter Heavy / GVW Rating - 8,510 Pounds ->( pick your color) Omaha Orange does show in the list online.

Man I'd have bought Denver Broncos Orange in a heartbeat . I bet Ram doesn't know what they're missing.
When I asked at the dealer I bought from they said 1500's sell to everybody, Heavy duty's just typically commercial use and commercial use doesn't want bright colors.

Re: Curious about process to order 2017 Power Wagon at deale
Well, thats BS right there. I know a LOT of States use bright colors for their Thruway/Highway/DOT vehicles & a LOT of companies would like them as well. Being seen is HUGE to prevent accidents. NYS Thruway Authority uses bright yellow. There is a company not far from my house that has a crapload of brand new 3500/4500/5500's chassis-cabs, both reg & crew cabs, that are bright yellow, & they get them ready for the Thruway Authority, with different upfitted back ends. Not to mention private people who plow snow or bucket trucks, etc.. .
Re: Curious about process to order 2017 Power Wagon at deale
I really like the new bed side badge and lower black stripe but ill be the first to say that im not very excited about the main color choices (top portion of the body) on the wagons. I had hoped there would be some new colors for '17 but it didn't happen. even as much as I don't care much for any them, I would have to say the granite grey is the one I like best.
if you do order a tradsman , just make 100% sure you can upgrade it with the options you want before putting down the deposit. i had to have the 8.4nav and alpine speakers, also i had to have the wagon instrument cluster and lcd screen, theres a few other things i wanted also, like the better headlights, heated seats etc. not sure you could get any wagon badging on a tradesman either. just stuff to think about

Seems expensive to me... I can put the $14k in AEV on my truck and make some cash! Lol
Re: Curious about process to order 2017 Power Wagon at deale
I'm in Oakleaf, borderline Jacksonville in Orange Park. I purchased mine in Orlando (used). Best dealer IMHO around is Garber CJDR in Green Cove Springs, you're not going to find many dealers that even know what a PW is in Jax; let alone get big Chrysler to build yours in Omaha Orange. I take mine to Garber for oil changes, etc. Show them the promo video (which was a 17' in Omaha Orange), Garber will work with you and get a response from RAM corporate. Heck, give RAM corporate a call yourself and do the legwork. If you're ordering, I would definitely check the box for the dual alternator option as well, it's inexpensive and is very useful if you run a lot of power accessories.madmanhiker wrote:Hello all - I currently drive a 2013 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 Crew Cab and I'm looking to move into a 2017 Power Wagon. I would second what Vanished said earlier, contact indytruckchampion (Ken Gregory) indytruckchampion@gmail.com
If it's still possible to get the Omaha Orange, he will make it happen. He's out of Indianapolis, but apparently he can drop ship or deliver anywhere in the US. I would venture to guess that he will probably be cheaper on a custom order than most of the trucks sitting on lots in your area as well.
I ordered my 2017 Power Wagon through him and couldn't be happier, super knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with...
