Mopar rock rail install

Post by powwagkup » Fri Jan 27, 2017 11:08 pm

Hi all. I've got a lead on some factory mopar rock rails for my gen3 that I'd like to buy and install. I've searched and found very little detailed information on installing. Most just mention drilling a dozen or so holes in the frame. ...does anyone have first hand experience or know where detailed instructions might be found? It says they come with all hardware and special tools.

Thanks!

I haven't seen this topic come up in a long time. Rock rails were a very rare option. Might have been dealer installed even. Think they cost around $800+ . Don't remember if that was installed or just parts. The kit came with some very special bolts and fasteners to mount to frame for one time use. Those became impossible to get at some point. I believe the drilling came with homemade rails and a few aftermarket fabricators trying to make copies and using normal bolts/nuts. Basically a hard and expensive undertaking.

Sorry this isn't any help with your question but I'm sure someone has a better answer. Let's see what they have to say.

I found somewhere that the special tools required are wire hangers and mounting brackets. Other than that I think it's just measuring and drilling. Thanks pit slave ....anything would be helpful.
