Well I am a little late to the party this year (already had out fair share of snow and salty roads), but the 3rd application is now complete (this is the trucks 3rd winter).

This is sand squirting out of one of the drain ports in the rockers after spraying a bunch of fluid film in there.

Yep, there are drain ports all along the bottom of the rockers. There is also a divider panel down the center of the rocker, you need to peel back the tape and look for the additional access ports inside. If not there is a good chance you're only spraying the inboard half of each rocker.

Well shit, I was not aware of that. I sure hope I have been getting everything....

Is there just one divider panel? Like in the center? If so, when I am spraying from each end and shoving the wand to the center, I would still be getting everything. I swear I would stick that two foot wand in ever one of those damn ports and go in both directions and never hit anything.

Look at the first page of my build thread, I posted a picture of the rocker cut open. When I closed the rocker up I had to spray rust inhibitor in the cavity. The only way to access the outer chamber was through holes ported in the divider close to the holes taped closed from the factory. You should be able to see inside the rocker sitting under the truck looking into the back of the rocker at the front of the cab.

Damnit, I’m pickin’ up what your throwin’ down now. You are talking about a barrier down the center of the rocker, LENGTHWISE. Shit. I have probably never been spraying much of anything on that side.

So on the outer side of the rocker panels are several small rectangular rubber plugs. I pulled one off on each end, and one off in the middle. Inserted spray nozzle (connected to aerosol cans of fluid film) and coated all areas. (This is also how I do the door seems). I noticed a few of the plugs I pulled off already had fluid film on them on the inside, so it must get in there a little bit somehow from the back side. But I feel much better now.

Thanks for that heads up Reloader!

Well don't let your exhaust butterfly valve seize. I'd squirt some up in there too :poke:

I think my friend's parents are in their 60s and 70s. You're really knocking the rust off those old broads.

However, I have noticed that she (my PW) gets rather excited and wet - and starts dripping from the tail pipe a minute after I get her started! hmmm
