09 locker bypass

Post by Sumbeach84 » Mon Jul 25, 2016 8:52 pm

Anyone make a plug and play kit for this year? I've read the articles and it doesn't seem hard to do but finding the resistor and switch have been kind of an issue lol

Is your's plug and play Cactus Red? If not, I can provide the connectors from a Toyota coil to make it plug and play. :patriot:

It's just the resistor and toggle switch. Had to pull it prior to the current service work to fix the lockers, and won't be putting it back in.

Honestly it's the one mod I used the least. The resistor type bypass does allow you to use the lockers in 2hi/4hi, but the truck thinks it"s in 4lo, so the remapped throttle kicks in. It is quite noticeable. The throttle response is slow until roughly 3K, then it comes on hard. And I've found the limited slip differential we have rarely requires the need for the rear locker in most situations encountered in high range. I will miss having the option tho.
