Differential Covers! Which one : Dodge Off Road or AEV?

Post by AWST1230 » Fri Jul 15, 2016 12:14 am

I'm looking at buying diff covers front and rear. I want to be able to drain the oil without removing the cover, it must be made of either Steel or Iron to take repeated beatings, and these two are the ones I'm looking at. What are your opinions? Pros/Cons? I am in Canada, I know it's gonna be expensive but I want the best and as far as truck products go, it's hard to beat American made. Thanks!

Take a look at the DT ProFab cover as well. Dave does nice work.

I have the DOR and am happy with it. Have not really abused it but I have done enough that the stock cover would not have held up. Only problem (which might be true for all the covers with drain and fill plus) is I have to use teflon tape to prevent the plugs from seeping.

I would purchase the unit again.

All good options above. Love my aev covers. Wife hit a stump in camp, no issues. Could have been expensive deal. Our diffs are really out there

I purchased a rear DOR cover I waited 6 months to get it, when I got it one of the welds leaked, the powder-coat was peeling off, I contacted DOR for a replacement and got no response after multiple tries I gave up, so I have a $250 diff cover sitting on the shelf in my garage that I can't use.

Do yourself a favor get the DT Profab cover...
