2016 Lockers
2016 Lockers
As Mikey had suggested, the more I lock the lockers, the better they work. I did a few miles around the house today, locking and unlocking. Rear seems to lock pretty easily after a bit of throttle followed by braking. Front seems to like a little throttle and a hard turn. Unlocking is pretty smooth. Still hoping to hear from CajunPW on the bypass but at least I am building some confidence in the lockers. Only have 930 miles on the truck so it's a bit of a learning curve.
WK sliders are on order.

Re: 2016 Lockers
I ordered the locker kit a few months ago. Arrived very quickly. I don't recall if it was from CajunPW but the email addy from the fella I ordered mine from is LockerBypass@outlook.com
Haven't had any time to install them yet. The factory lockers on my 2016 work a hell-of-a-lot better than the garbage on my 2012PW (which NEVER worked). As long as the 2016 continue to work fairly reliably I may wait until the factory warranty has expired before I install the kit.

Re: 2016 Lockers
I emailed cajun several weeks ago and still havnt heard back. I am waiting patiently, though, as i know he has a normal life and this is on the side work for him... And good things come to those who wait.
Emailed WK a few days ago about sliders too and waiting to hear back.
Did anybody else get the lifetime warranty with their new pw?

Re: 2016 Lockers
The dealer tried hard to sell me the lifetime warranty. It was like $8k if I recall. Told them *uck no. Btw, I tried to argue the point with the dealer on my 2012PW that the lockers are covered under the powertrain component of the warranty. Negative ghostrider. They are not. The warranty on the lockers expired at 36mos/ 36k miles. SOB's dinged me $1500 on the trade in for the 2016PW because they didn't work. Nor have they ever worked... Still pretty bitter about it but all the factory promotions and incentives on the 2016 eased the pain a bit.

I bought the lifetime warranty. First warranty i have ever bought for anything in my life. It was $3000.
I can get out of it and get my money back if i want. Still not 100% sure if it is worth it or not. With all the electronics in these things these days i figured it may be a wise choice.

If the lockers arnt covered then thats a bunch of shit. As far as i know, normal wear items like brakes and stuff arnt covered obviously, but most other stuff is. I didnt have much time to research it so im not positive what exactly is covered. I know the winch isnt covered.

The lockers on my 16 don't lock any faster than the ones on my 07.

Yeah
Re: 2016 Lockers
I will order as soon as I hear back from Cajun.
Also, found today that the smart bar will disconnect in 4Hi if below 18 mph. I was thinking that was low range only. I can see using that a lot in the winter when our roads get all rutted up. (no need for low range but a smoother ride would be handy.) Lockers are getting pretty consistent to lock. Starting to feel comfortable that they will generally engage when needed.

Re: 2016 Lockers
I was super lucky, when i bought mine, they were running a lifetime powertrain warranty. They tried to ding me, but i stood my ground. I kept calmly repeating this to them: "My powertrain is not working properly, I have a lifetime powertrain warranty, please fix it." I repeated this like 1000x's. Then they tried some bullshit saying that sensors & plugs are not covered because it is not INSIDE the axle. The part they ended up replacing WAS inside the axle, so they HAD to cover it, after all the fuss they made, about the sensors & plugs not being covered because they were not INSIDE the axle. They said it would have been like $2700 if i had to pay for it. $500+ for the part, the rest for labor. They had to remove everything in the pumpkin & remove both axle shafts, to replace the tone ring for the locker.

Yes, I got the max care total coverage warranty from Chrysler, paid just over $1800-$1900ish for it, I think that's a fair deal for a truck I'll keep for 10+ yrs.olyelr wrote:Bigskyguy1976 wrote:The dealer tried hard to sell me the lifetime warranty.
