Locker actuator

Post by 06PW » Mon May 02, 2016 4:01 pm

Trying to figure out how the magnets on the locker play their part in engagement of the front locker. I found that when the factory switch on a 3rd gen truck is turned to rear lock, usually the locker will lock up even if you have a flashing light. The sense wires only detect whether it is locked, which dirty magnets can play tricks on. My question is, is the sense wire a 5v feed from the computer and the magnets complete the circuit or is there a voltage reduction somewhere after the magnets? My reason for asking is I thought about just wiring a relay up that jumps the 5v sense circuit when the 12v is sent to actuate the locker. Sort of a bypass/hardwire combo
