5.13 R+P for 10.5"

Post by jeremi » Sat Oct 24, 2015 7:57 am

I have a set of Power Wagon axles I will be swapping into my JK, with the recent release from AAM of 5.13 gears for the 9.25"(no spacer) and 11.50" I am sure there is a business case for a vendor either OE or aftermarket to produce 5.13 for the 10.5". There is a large group of people modifying Power Wagons(as seen by this site), other hemi and non-HO Rams as well as the swapper crowd. Is any one interested in these gears? If so chime in please. I believe a case could be made with a manufacturer if there was enough of a demand. I also think that the volume required is smaller than some may think(couple hundred units) Post up here and be heard!

Thanks gang

I'm in for set of 5.13's for the 9.5 and 10.5 axles.

But I don't think it will happen. Tried before.

Lol I'm just trying to gather data, we need to show manufacturers a market. I'm of the opinion that there prob isn't a need for multiple sources but who ever comes out with them first would def sell them. Remember manufacturers do use social media so tweet them, Facebook them what ever other pathways you have to be heard. Prove they need to do it!!

I'd definitely be interested as well. Imagining the possibilities and improvements already, from acceleration, to towing, and to my favorite, rock-crawling. My highway RPM's (aka MPG) would suffer a lot, but it'd still be worth it. Any ideas on cost yet, or way too early?

You can get 5.38's for the 9.25 and 11.5, I very nearly went with that ratio myself

I think 5.13's are going to be a huge torque increase maybe 40's I would do lower...:p

270 views and only a handful claiming to be interested? Perhaps the aftermarket is right in not producing these? If you would purchase these gears at a fair price post up

Yes, I'd like to swap the gear set in my 2014 to something larger than 4.10's, 4.88 or 5.13 ideally. I'd like to preserve or even best the current final drive ratio w/ 37's. Haven't sat down to do the math, but I'd suspect 5.13's are required.

Just some quick math, with 37's you need 5.13 r&p to get 4.56, with 4.88 it comes out to 4.35.
with 35's a 5.13 r&p will equal 4.83, 4.88 r&p will equal 4.60.

I will get 5.13's if they are made. I've thought about getting the 11.5AAM just so I could have the flexibility and even switching to other axles entirely but I've already got a lot of money tied into the front axle.

Hi,

I would be interested in 4:88's as running 35's but would be great if a manufacturer would make 10.5 gears to match what's available for the front axle.
