Addictive desert designs, AEV and Aluminess are the only ones I know of. I am unclear on how the winch works with the AEV, but as stated it is heavy and sticks out so it would hinder approach angles and clearance. I would love to see more options but cant find any. Guess Ill be building my own.

Just an FYI, you have to move the winch for the AEV Bumper.

I look at them but too low of clearance for what I want.

Anyone seen the thunderstruck? They make this bumper power wagon specific for all years . They just cut a slot for the factory winch, just need a new fairlead...

Gnarly for sure but looks heavy.
All about application when choosing front and rear protection.

Maybe as early as a week he will be able to confirm whether or not it will work on the PW or need to be redesigned. Hopefully just cut a slot and add a fairlead.

There is another one i can't think of right now. It is uber HD, uber tire clearance & uber expensive......like $3600. The PW that went on the Ultimate Adventure had one on it. It was a red front bumper.

Yup, thats it. Mercenary. Like 25-$2800, sorry.

I like Mercenary's but I think they are over priced for what they are. I know Don's looks similar but I like his better than the Mercenary.

So I keep going back to the Aluminess Bumper as one of our best options. However, I have one concern I was hoping others could help me with. I live in an area that gets snow and ice, and they put deicer and crap on the road. I'm not worried about the integrity of the bumper because I'd have it coated with Line-X. However, what concerns me is the lack of coverage where the sides angle up. I fear that the way the Aluminess Bumper is cut it takes away from some of the protection the factory bumper gives when it comes to weather conditions. I'm thinking things like the smart bar, shocks, wires, etc are more exposed than the factory bumper. Any thoughts on this? For reference here's a side shot of the Aluminess and a side shot of my truck to show what I'm talking about.

They can modify it and build it how you want is what the guy told me when I asked why I was seeing different bar designs for the PW on the web.
Not sure if they can put a deflector down there but I don't see where it would hurt. If anything, it gives you better access to clean. They're aluminum also so salt corrosion is nothing.

Those aluminess bumpers are damn sexy and a ton of ground clearance too! I like
My smittybilt it sticks out like a saggy bumper but looks good from the front and realistically I think I'm identical to a stock p.wagon for approach angle etc. they are cheap and fairly sturdy I mean I like it cause it's a lot
Of space between my contact/ impact point and my important stuff lol

Maybe when I'm in Oregon I'll see if don will fit a bumper on and see how it looks I think he's gunna be surprised how easy it is to fit his bumper on our trucks it literally 2" past a cummins intercooler so why not?

Juday thank you for the pictures. It doesn't appear that the Smart Bar is any more vulnerable with the Aluminess versus the stock bumper. This is a HUGE help!

No problem! Keep in mind, too, that I trimmed those fender wells myself. You can cut them, or not cut them. I opted to because I like the clean look. In regards to exposed electronics, I just spray everything down well with Fluid Film and call it good.

Other than the lights all I bought was the fittings to make the grill and light guards from. All material is 3/16" or 1/4" plate. Without the guard it sticks out the same as the factory tow hooks which I reused and it mounts with the factory hardware. Winch is on factory carrier in factory position. Still needs a few touch ups but I plan on pulling it off in the spring to blast and coat and will catch everything then.

I absolutely love my Mercenary bumper. Sleek lines and you can't get more clearance without cutting off body mounts. It really tucks up there tight. I was lucky enough to be the test truck for the Power Wagon version.
