8 lug to 6 lug wheel adapters?

Post by kengray » Mon Apr 27, 2015 11:54 pm

I have a set of wheels from my FJ Cruiser that would look great on my 2015 PW. Unfortunately they are 6 lug wheels. I did a search for adapters to fit the wheels to my PW's 8 lug set-up, but not surprisingly I couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

You would be going from a stronger design to a weaker design. I don't think your gonna find anything. I wouldnt do it anyway, just me

Thanks. It was just a thought. I hadn't thought about the 6 lug being weaker.

Plus the hubs of the PW would be larger and not allow the adapter to fit over them for sure on the full float hub on the rear.

No way should you go 6 bolt on an 8 bolt axle. They are 8 for a reason, loads, weight capability, etc. like in piping, if in doubt, always upsize, never downgrade.
