Dealer shenanigans :

They had my  truck for 4 days. They fixed NOTHING that i brought it in for  . They did not call me unless i pestered them. Today i went in there & said i want my  truck back. I asked them: "DO YOU THINK YOUR  TIME IS WORTH MORE THAN MINE ??? CAUSE IT AIN'T". i HAD TO EDUCATE THE SERVICE MANAGER AND THE MECHANIC !!!

This is what happened: it was throwing a code that neither a Dodge computer or Chrysler or Fiat could recognize. They had to call STAR, whatever the  that is. It came back: Powertrain control module. Yet when they went to order it & typed in my VIN, it came back: "Not applicable for this vehicle". I said :wtf: , do you want me to go home, remove my skid plate, come back & give your "tech's" a  class on how to do their  jobs ? I told them i will, at your labor rate, per hour, for each employee !!!

I said sometimes you just got to be smarter than the computer. I had to explain about the lockers & how they work & that the computer will not let the lockers engage unless everything is reading correctly (the stars are aligned, )

So now, i am not sure of the problem. I drove the truck to work tonight & stopped on the way home & everything locked up quick, & unlocked quick, like it always does & swaybar disconnected & reconnected quick as well ????????????? But the light was also not flashing like it was on the way home from vacation w/camper on.

Could it be just dirty magnets causing this ??? I did skip a year or 2 with changing the diff fluids.

Don't think missing a fluid change will hurt. Light isn't flashing. I say drive it.

I am driving it. Flashing rear locker light comes on after about 100 miles of towing with the camper @ 70 mph.

Twin I had the same issue...I'd drive to work all hwy driving at 65mph...just about 60 miles of driving the 4wdserv and rr started flashing...I'd park it at the shop...shut it off wait 5 mins ..start it no 4wdserv or flashing light..operate everything and all good...the same would happen when I went home..driving it locally the lights never came on just on long trips...luckily I had some time left on warranty and it covered it...I changed the smart bar first to see if it would correct the issue..it didnt...dealer replaced actuator and plug...so far so good for now

Any idea exactly what actuator and plug ? Part #'s would be awesome. They may have on record in their computer.

 Once again, my dealer seems to need to be educated.

I found Part # 0508-3138-AA-001 for the Transfer case position sensor.

For the harness that plugs in at the diffs I have a Mopar 68040492AA. I recently replaced both of mine with these and they were a perfect match.

For the actually actuator inside the diff

front locker actuator 05175284AB
rear locker actuator 05175302AB

These fit my 2005 not sure about other years I believe they were the same.

Agreed! I use things I learn here to educate my dealer all the time and cut thru the "we'll try this and see what happens" way to fix things.
